Can everyone agree that Silent Hill 2 had the best combat system (for a SILENT HILL game). The combat system in 2 felt just right... To me, after playing through the game a few times, the controls felt so tight and perfect that it reminded me of another game with tight, perfect controls... MEGAMAN 2!

I'm turned off by the idea that Downpour is once again, changing things that were already PERFECT.

We started off telling insane stories that covered a lot of taboo issues (rape, sexual abuse, devil worship, lost innocence, guilty consciences) and had actual morals and lessons to teach, and were so powerful... now SH games just tend to have standard horror plots.

My motto is, if you don't have a story to tell or a point to make, you should probably keep your mouth shut... but, they'll keep adding shitty games to the series and destroying it's reputation just like George Lucas and Star Wars.

SH3 = Almost as good as SH2 but still very awesome.

SH4 = Almost as good as SH3 but still a good game.

SHOrigins = Almost as good as SH4. But not quite. Had an amazing soundtrack though.

SHHomecoming = Almost as good as SHOrigins. But more of an action game then a scary one.

As for the movie; it had the feel down, which is surprising. It was also scary and empathetic. But the story arks near the end and makes it seem bad, because the story you originally know is in mind the whole movie, giving it sense. But when you change it, it makes less sence, and seems silly and cheesy. 3/5 -- I do like knowing that if it is possible to make a movie, and this movie showed that through setting and acting. Unfortunitally, it lacks reasoning and plot structure. It was too uncanny.

I completely disagree. Silent Hill 1 was THE Silent Hill game. Silent Hill 2 was THE next Silent Hill game. And in my opinion. It pretty much goes in order. lol SH1 = best. SH2 next best. I don't like the rabbid fanboyism here. I played SH 1 and 2, and they changed me as a gamer and maybe even a person. Silent Hill 2 is an almost spiritual experience, but some of the things people are saying are totally right, yet they get their comments blocked regardless. The graphics in SH 1 were bad, even for their time. The games don't control well at all (unless you're playing them on PC/Mac, which is the better way with SH2 in particular). And, no, even the cutscenes don't quite hold up.

I'm not trying to argue, I have a Ps3 myself, and know of the graphics, but still those cutscenes from Silent Hill 2 are great. Do you have, or have you played all of the Silent Hill games? I'm a really big fan, I was going to buy Homecoming for Ps3, but it got a terrible score unlike its predecessors, even though there was alot of good about it, that score kind of shyed me away from buying it.

What about 3? 3 was a pretty good way to end the Harry Mason story, as well as explain a little more about the cult. Silent Hill 4 depressed everyone...because it wasn't a true "Silent Hill" experience. We think Fog in a creepy town that sometimes turns to wire and rust and then goes pitch black. We expected to GO to Silent Hill. Nope! never go! And there are ghosts.

Everything before 4 was better by far. And Origins is on probation untill I play it to verify its worth.

And SH2 is the win.
