please i have no where else to turn because google utterly failed me. i set up my co2 reactor and bubbles come up well through the check. However they aren't going into the tank. Ive tried and tried to find leaks at the seals of the check but can't find any. when I look at some water droplets in the tube (from the check to the fish tank) i can see them slowly moving backwards. What could this possibly be? ive done the water test and ZERO bubbles break free. still im somehow loosing pressure?
Great build thanks for the idea! Quick question though. If the bottles are sealed with silicone creating two air tight chambers, what's the reason for the one-way valve? When the yeast dies and ceases to produce co2, any siphoning effects would stop once the pressure in the bottles reaches a given point.

so your looking for a red spec. light????? how about wight light? Its a better spectrum for your plants. and you can change the color of your water by adding driftwood and or peat. Your water will turn to a nice tea color. However id your going to use peat it is going to drop your ph.
i need some help.i made a diy system like yours.i connected two 2 liter bottles onto a plastic t and then to my bubble counter,to my diffuser like the one u have.but it didnt work.what do think could be the problem?a leak through the silicone?
@damiangonzalez615 It could be bad yeast or a leak in the silicone. Make sure you have a check valve in your airline tubing on the Co2 system. You don't want the system to siphon out your water after the Yeast dies.
C02 will destroy any plastic valve and ruin the 0-rings in a metal one. No need for a valve anyway. I don't even use a check valve but I'm careful not to squeeze the bottle so it doesn't siphon my tank =)
Hey bro., i have a question for you!! What recipe you use to make co2 and what kind o light are you using for your plants?? And your aquarium looks so good congratulations
uhg sorry about these assholes giving you shit about your video. :/ I thought it was very helpful! =] Is there any way I can make the hole without the drill? I don't really have access to one......
@LianneLovesMountains heat a long nail or something over fire till its real hot and poke it thru the cap.. n ofcourse.. hold the nail with something that wont burn u..
good looking aqurium. i have two lights strips on my 55gal. i use aqua-glo which enhances color and sun-glo which lites up the tank. Together gives off bight white lite.
@TheMyerslmtim Dude I got some horrible lighting. It gives off a blue color and you can't see the the colors too well on the fish. 45 inch bulbs and can't find replacements. At least I got the whole setup for free.
@ThaDrSean get new lights strips if having a hard time finding bulbs for what you have. as i said before, i got two individual light strips w/ glo bulbs .
For the life of me I cant get this type of system to work!!

xXxSTENCHxXx 4 weeks ago
@xXxSTENCHxXx I think one should do it. I don't want to kill your Discus though. I would check with somebody else who has Discus running CO2

@JefafaSB I thought it would siphon out my tank. Plus at the time I might of needed to connect the airline tubing. I had an extra one-way valve.

Oh and the airstone is making all that C02 escape!! no need for airstone, plants provide oxygen.
BusaFalconer 7 months ago
@BusaFalconer I would still run an airstone. Plants don't produce oxygen at night.

@LianneLovesMountains You can use a soldering iron or heat up a nail over a stovetop or lighter and melt a hole either way.
