Hi Greg. I have a question on keeping 3 sets of pipes. I have one and if I do not play it for one or two days it is not as ready to play as lbefore and it is progressive. Now I think of getting another set and I am confused a bit how to keep them all in order. And I look after my pipes very much and keep it in the hard case, far off heaters and sun rays at t=22C. Best Regards. Alexander. P.S. I have been practicing GHB for 3 years. May be if I practice it as long as you it is not a problem.
Can anyone tell me why pipers do that wee march thingy. My assumption is that it is from Highland Pipes being a marshall instrument but I am curious as to whether there is another traditional explanation for it I have to be honest it kinda peeves me I can understand if you were on duty and paying tribute then it's awesome but I see all these guys just showing some feature on their pipes in a t shirt and shorts then trying to act all rigid and militant in the most indistinguished garb available
It is Matt Dolan here. Great sounding pipes! I really like your tunes too. Your sound of your reed and bagpipe is awesome! Quite impressive that you have no tape what so ever.... has Jerry changed the design look of his chanter cause the bottom looks a lot longer than I remember. I haven't seen to many gibsons out here in BC Canada.... mostly Naill & McCallum. Well anyways great VLOG!!! Take care and talk to you soon, Matt
Greg Abbott makes some great reeds, and they sound great in Jerry's pipes. Gibson Bagpipes are fast becoming one of the most sought-after brands out there.
One of the best sounding chanters I have ever heard! Which model is it exactly and can you tell me how much does the reed made by Greg Abbott cost? I am currently looking for a new reed for my Dunbar Elite II Poly chanter and this seems like a great choice. Thanks in advance for any info and also for this great video!
Greg : What an excellent set of pipes...& with NO tape on the chanter at all. Those of us who play Gibson bagpipes should all make videos just as you have, to show off the sound, so it can be proven to people why we hold them in such high regard. P.
I had Greg as my MSR (March/Strathspey/Reel) instructor at the NAAP. He's a cool guy!
