Also, Roddick is approaching with his backhand almost all the time, therefore he has to either slice and make berdych dig it up or hit it x-court in order to pull berdych out wide

2.slice suppose to be as low as possible

3.slice works well against tall guys like berdych

4.conclusion: approaching x-court is higher percentage than down the line

You've got more chance of winning the point comming in on a slice which you have hit DTL - they only have one possible shot to make, if you go CC then you allow the opponent to make the pass to easily; Roddick has lost tons of matches because of his silly approach shots crosscourt.

Berdych has a potential to be a great player. But now, he misses too many chances by making too many unforce errors.

berdych is a hard hitter,both on forehand and serve, but his agility around the court is affected because of his height..maybe he could focuse on coming more to the net..

actually his backhand shouldn't be neglected. It's one of the smoothest on tour. In general he's one of the greatest technical player on court. Just needs to put a few things together before he can truly contend with the top 5.

Berdych fucks up too much. He is an inconsistent hitter and one day he can hit clean, while the next he could spray unforced errors everywhere. Also, his will to win is not very impressive. He is pretty talented though, with his huge strokes.
