I wanted to thank you for putting up this video and music. it obviously is a work of art and I am sure you put a lot of talented effort into it. Pretty cool stuff. 65 and I can still dig the real music !!
this version is simply beyond belief...i will never tire of the beauty of this amazing song...the pinnacle of neils great career...cant wait to get back up to boulter, ontario and play this song in my head as i walk down that little country road and forget about the united states government thats ruining our country with its lame ass policies...go to hell...power to the people! Mr. Weber New Waterford, Ohio boulterontarioman48
@boulterontarioman48 Did you ever get back to boulter? Yeah the guv is big time messed up here. We need a 3rd party for starters. A little integrity wouldn't hurt either.
Jack - you apparently give the right amount of thought to every frame as well as to the overall concept & the lack of predictability is one of your greatest assets though self-contained cohesion and reoccurring images are spellbinding. The best use of morphing and faux-morphing where one assume a morph is coming but then just dissolves or knocks ones socks off is fine. Your choice of colors.. concepts..colors and patterns. Neil appreciates not too many closeups and good lighting for his smile.
Awesome job on my all time favorite Neil Young track! I listen to this song at least once a week...have heard numerous live versions and this one ranks with the best.
You did a really fantastic job with this work. Exactly the kind of video I want to see for this song...a psychedelic representation of Cortez's blissful distortion...you nailed it.
@MetalGuruMessiah "psychedelic representation of Cortez's blissful distortion" Apropos choice of words. No doubt bliss played a part. Distortion is a given. Psychedelic to the degree that the 'gods of many colors' one is willing to allow.
Some who know me pretty well would say I'm a bit biased about Neil. I just see myself as a long time fan, but nonetheless, mesmerizing may be an over used
word on YT, but it seems you've captured the essence of the song, adding to what the individuals imagination might.
The prolonged guitar solo gives enought time to set the mood, the story is told, and you did it very well for me.
@rockinroller7 You have good reason to be biased about Neil. Glad the visuals seemed to add to your enjoyment. What is the point of attempting a video if no one will get touched by it? Thanks Rock.
I suppose it's true about my bias, but the pleasure is enhanced by your (and fellow creator 'MetalMessiahGuru,') continued creations of gold. Alchemy?
I was lucky enough to have had this tune playing the first time I felt something from salvia, F 'n amazing, landing with the wind blowing through my sails.
if we all listened to music like this and if we all toked grass ,there would be no war.!think about it.turn on your neighbors ,just a joke.our people are nazi like.
@curiousgeorge555 I guess Neil sort of made Cortez into such a monster (he was but he always treat his wife well) but history shows Montezuma was far from a saint and killed many unfortunates and hate and war was not just a legend !! Neil should check the facts but history class was so long ago . I always tried to find out what Neil excelled at in school.. just would love to see if he took a creative writing course . What did the teachers write about him?
@curiousgeorge555 Congrats on this great psychedelic-killer video .. this might top your first ""words" but it would be nice to see you joining in with a little violin. Boy Neil plays his heart out . and you worked your heart out bringing such a great video to us. Wow what an powderkeg of info you are (always informed & almost always entertaining and humanitarian of the year!). Didn't know about Cortez's wife ... Dona the prima Dona. ..
@DejaVuSu He probably was too busy playing and not learnin' other than being denied by bullies. Thanks I always thought is was gallons not galleons of guns! And the line "I know she's living there and loves me to this day" is followed by "I don't know when or how I lost my way" and I thought it was a reference to how society and history has lost her way . So Neil didn't like the "she's living there" well he has a sense of humor and northern man don't need him around anyhow.
@curiousgeorge555 Just a great video that should be up for video of year at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as they need a place for great videos like this one and one less place for the dave clark 5.
@curiousgeorge555 Lastly (thankfully) people will be studying your videos for Decades. Man Neil should see this .. he would be moved and moved up to top 10 guitarist from those silly polls that have him ranked 81st. This is also a Rorschach test of you and me and baby makes three. Your use of purple hues shows your unyielding idealistic spirit and the dark reds demonstrate your strong emotional drive but it is muted as you go back to purples for safety from those angry gods on your tail.
I agreed with some comments...this is a legendary song! ....apotheosis electric guitar....thanks you for sharing it with this very creative video!*****
@curiousgeorge555 That's a nice gesture from you. There is so much talent on youtube, I feel the quality of my vids are substandard, but if you want to then feel free to do so. @blue2blueinthenight So happy you enjoyed this. As is the case with Powderfinger07 being inspired to crank his guitar up and play "Cortez" a few times after this I was inspired to attempt to make a vid' after listening to it.
