I hate going to any "Delaney and Bonnie" video on YouTube. I can't stop with just one! Pretty soon, the whole mornin' s gone, my butt's sore from sittin' my eyes is tired from lookin' at a little picture. and nothin's been done.
God I love this band! I played and wore out 2 "On Tour with Delaney and Bonnie" LP's from use. Ironic that the more you like 'em, the more you play 'em, and the sooner they wear out." Numerous cassette tapes as well.
Some people don't realize that Jim Gordon not only wrote Layla with Clapton, he is the one who did the piano solo at the end, not Bobby Whitlock. Of course Carl Radle is dead too. Too much Tequila killed him.
@cooltooth112 Jim Gordon wrote the Piano Coda to Layla, but didn't have the "feel" to play it. Whitlock played it on the recording. This according to Bobby Whitlock.
@guitarslinger4 Thanks for the correct information. At least you've confirmed to me that Jim did write it. Nobody would believe me that Jim wrote it, I assumed he played it too, but that's allright. I feel somewhat vindacated because nobody believed he had a part in it. People just assumed he had a hand in the lyrics and nothing to do with the piano part. Did he help write the words, too?
OLE JIM GORDON ON DRUMS....STILL SITTING UP IN ATASCADERO I PRESUME, FOR KILLING HIS MAMMA BACK IN "83"? STILL ONE OF MY FAVORITE DRUMMERS. GREAT SESSION PLAYER FROM THE 60S AND 70S, PLAYED ON MORE SESSIONS THAN PROBABLY DID STEVE GADD !

@guitarslinger4 Don't believe everything Whitlock says. Perhaps it was double piano, but it was never Whitlock alone.

@stevenmonson1 Clapton said that he realized there was something wrong with Jim Gordon but he just assumed it was the drugs they were taking.
