Morricone is the Eastwood of motion picture soundtracks... when he came together with Clint and Sergio Leone... it was the greatest collaboration I've ever experienced on film.
Just got back from watching the new Sherlock Holmes movie and was so excited to hear two mules for sister sara playing!!! I have watched this movie for years and love that this piece was put back into action.
I was in love with Eastwood during the sixties and went all over London to see his films. Never realized then that he Woodhull become such an iconic phenomena as a director too.
Wow. The start of this is a good example of a composer borrowing from a past work of his and doing a bit of a variation on it. At first I thought I was hearing The Sundown from The Good, Bad, and Ugly (link below). Both are beautiful pieces.
Clint Eastwood is like friggin' gunslinger 101!!! many times I have wanted to have been born back in those days just so I could be like him and get the girls, get the gun, and smoke the cigars.
to cave in to a $ociety that is CLEARLY lost and to subject your soul to the PIT of way with no direction but DOWN. Hold tight everything you need is not within the ruling $ociety... After all, your true objec+ive~* is to rise~* above the hipoCRosy and the ab$olute SHame of thousands upon thousands of U.S. mother$ who their children are poisoned with at Bitrh~those who were Murdered and Aborted.
Loved the movie, only thing that always bugged me.... Shirley Maclaine's 1970's eye shadow! a "Nun" would never have make up like that. I know she was a Madam pretending to be a nun, so she should have made it more realistic with out the make up ;)
"I killed a man one day. I beat him on the head and I left him there for dead, yes I left him there for dead... dam his eyes..." - perfect drinking song with the lads! :-) Great film, excellent score :-)

for all the impatient ones: the "real" song - that is, the main theme from this film - begins at 2:09.

Who's going to replace Moriccone when he dies? Seriously? There's been a lot of pretenders but no one has come close to his legacy.

@angels77100 I often wonder the same thing when it comes to certain genres of music...60's 70's...
Ennio was so brilliant in his music, the heart and passion makes his music so soulful!
