I've got one of these and it rocks even now, phone still looks great, only diference is I have customised it all the way so now it runs on SPB mobile shell with it's 3D carousel interface and upgraded the browser to Opera 10.0 which is lightning fast!!!

@xfreedomgundamx You have a wi-fi that means you can connect to the internet wherever a hot spot of wireless internet exists! (usually in coffee shops, restaurants, malls etc) and yes, it is for free..You can also get a contract for the internet whenever you are not in a hot spot area.

the touch diamond is a load of crap. the phone is so slow. moving from menu to menu take a long time so u eventually scroll into the wrong menu because of the delayed reaction. if u r gonna retrieve your voicemail, by time the recodring says you should enter your passcode the backlight kicks in. no matter how i change my backlight setting it reverts back to 10 secs for some reason. all the people that i know using the diamond complains about the same backlight problem. cant come near the iphone.

no, it doesn't have mouse. And the center button doesn't work well, it's only for making a zoom, and in some cases it also allows you to scroll up and down, but like I said it doesn't work too well.

The flash looking contacts with pictures looks excellent but would be crap in the real world when your trying to find a contact in a hurry amongst 800+ others.

If you don't want to pay for internet. Simply get sprint and get pay 30 dollars amonth. On th Iphone its about 3 cent per kilobyte. Imaging going to a site with 10,000 of those times three? So I'd rather pay just 30 a month then 600 for a bill. The wifi is good as well. It suchs on long drives and what not.

They removed the backing diamond case.. I'm quite sure. I was holding one in Telus(Canada.. if you're in states, i'm not sure for Verizon or Sprint) and the back diamond was removed because he said people didn't like the feel. I'd agree.. I think it would be weird to hold it with the edges..

What are you talking about? The camera is quite nice. White balance is still a bit wonky at times, but in general it takes very nice photos. I use it all the time.

i don't know about the US but here almost every body has (Sim-Only) contracts for a year.

i talked to a friend who works for T-Mobile.

he says the rumours are that there wil be a 1 year a 2 year and one for people who already have T-mobile sim ,so those people only need a phone that price will be a bit higher instead of 130 euro it will be 200 or 250 euro.

with the extra 100 euro u have paid off a totaal year contract of sim only

in about 2/3 maybe even 1 month the next one from HTC comes to the market. Called HTC touch pro or Raphael, it's gonna have a micro sd slot, so no need for the 16gig version. Also a full keypad, more ram, better resolution, flash for the camera, tv-out, better battery etc... the only downside it's 7mm thicker then the diamond (for the slide out key pad). But looks (alomst) exactly like the diamond.

well after seeing the Iphone in action, you're just not impressed by this. The Iphone may not have the newest technology, but the only advantage this touch diamond has, is the better camera. The iphone runs so smooth in every menu, browsing and so on. music player is WAY better as well.. i dont really see a reason to pick this one over the Iphone. And i'll take electrical conductive touch screen over pressure touch screen any day..

Well i have done some research and not on dimensions(lol) but i did find some good info for people living in the US. T-mobile is releasing this phone in germany next month and they are calling it MDA Compact IV(4). The version with the qwerty keyboard is the Vario IV and will be released in autumn. Thats great news since tmobile is also in america meaning that we can finally have hope of this phone coming here. And look it up the pics of these phones. These are way "sleeker" than da htc versions
