  • 1:50 ??? WTF?!

  • this aint sneaky snake:(

  • I'm Irish and have lived abroad for the last 10 years and it reminded me so much of my childhood. I think this might be the first series (Program) on in Ireland (the world )to be about Travelers (Pikeys) apart from the fact that they all live in a Magic"caravan, the best pickpocket (fingersmith) of the family is 40 coats

"and his 50 pockets" The baddie is British ""of course". I FC0kin love it !

  • I have the Wanderly wagon collection on DVD. Great memories a a kid in Ireland :)

  • I am Johnny Wizz

  • total classic ,loved that show as a kid

  • im confused,i remember only 40 coats. Was 40 coats a seperate programme? ,i was born in 79 and wanderly wagon finished in 82, so can anyone help me, i dont remember judge either but i remember learning the safe cross code in junior infants in 84, two years after W.W. and i thought the song for safe cross code was different than the famous one,,,M can anyone help pls?????????

  • I haven't seen this in decades and Eugene's passing had me looking it up. What an amazing programme this was! Much more to it than I ever remembered. Thanks Eugene and all the Wanderly Wagoneers for a great childhood experience. As to the 'knockers' - if Wanderly Wagon is the only thing you have to moan about, you're much luckier than you know!

  • I cried when my older sisters turned this off (before the VCR was invented), was I sad or did I just love this show? Anyway thanks for the memories Eugene

  • Correct...Old Mr Brennan...Same actor..Bill Goulding, He also played Rory

  • that witch wasnt the origional witch was she? i use to scream and hide behind the sofa when she came on. oooh, it brings back those days.

  • anyone know where i can find more forty coats clips/ slightly bonkers, so far so good too

  • that bosco bit was hilarious.....what a show

any wonder all of us ended up fucked up lol...

  • lol ,what about granmother's shite !

  • lol, it scaried the bejasus's outta me,

  • Loved this, loved it so much that i didnt even realise it was part of wanderely wagon, it was all about the forty coats for me.

  • i luved this show as a kid was one of my favourites and im proud to say i stil possess my forty coats tape about the big clean up with slightly bonkers and sofar so good!classic!

  • Amazing. The whiligig witch says angry like nobody ever. It's electric. You only find this kind of talent in theatreland nowadays.

  • Is it a lamb covered in jam? Is it a goose ozzing with juice?? No no no it's a.........

Can someone please tell me what's next!!

  • I hated the fuggin thing and I was only about five, O'brien is the creepiest mucker on the planet, I still can't listen to Eugen Lambert. Awful shite in the extremeexcept for crow on acid.

  • haha thats my teacher!!!NO JOKE!!

  • @fionavasseghi Fran Dempsey? If it is, then me too!

  • @Timbo992

    yeah xD

  • This is sooo good! Its been years since I saw this and I completely forgot the intro... i remember the flying van but the music is alien!!! LOL!

  • love this!

  • I LOVED Wanderley Wagon but I gotta say, I don't remember that trippy psychedelic bit in the intro lol. And Forty Coats - is that the guy who does the "Aul' Mr Brennan" ads now. Sounds like him. BRING BACK WANDERLEY WAGON - but at midnight on Thursdays or something so that we can watch it and get all nostalgic again. And tripped out lol. I'd say it would be mad with a few pints in ye hahaha

  • If only RTE would make more Wanderly wagon shows, then I would have a job! Just made a skirt with 18 pockets.

  • A great song

  • holy shit, bosco appearing as a ghost at 1.51 actually scared me...hahaha

  • ah, Forty Coats and his fifty pockets - brilliant!

  • LMAO

  • fucking LOOOOL i loved that wheni was a kid! Hilarious now! i rekon they were in a k hole making that lol

  • The Whirlygig Witch!!!

  • Jesus forty coats was deadly!

  • The more and more I see clips from Wanderly Wagon, I'm convinced that everyone involved did remarkable amounts of acid!

  • Did he say "Mothers shite" at 0:24?

  • Mother's choice

  • @rinnin No he said "And what about Godmother's choice? I'll bring her zubes to help her voice!

  • LMAO @ 01:50 hahaha

  • LOL!!! Me too, Nafster007!

  • This is classic, I watched fortycoats religiously as a child and then it just vanished from the screen. Did they cancel or had it lived its cycle?

  • you had no choice there was only one bleedin, channel!

  • i loved this when i was young as did da rest of my family it was the highlite of r week. we want to c more forty coats please!!!!!!!!!!

  • Indeed.

  • I loved watching this show as a kid! I have looked for video footage for ages. Thanks!

  • I've talked to loads of people about these old programs and why RTE never put them out on DVD

The reason is that RTE were hard up for VT Tape that they reused the tape so these programs don't exist in the archive.

  • Oh my God! That's means we'll never see a Fortycoats DVD! I thought with the release of the Wanderly Wagon and Bosco DVDs that a Fortycoats DVD was imminent any Christmas now. That means I'll never see Sofarsogood or Slightly Bonkers again! My dreams are shattered!

  • I agreee with wexxie, rte today is rubbish. Especially the presenters.

  • her pea green face looks fake.

  • not to sound like a total loser, but does anyone have any clips of the rte puppet show 'the rimini riddle' or even remember it or 'pajo' or the mcspuds in saver's supermarket

  • The McSpudz were on Bosco. I've been looking for Rimini riddle myself. You'd be surprised at how few people remember it!

  • how very scary that we all watched this with such innocent eyes...... suppose it was better then growing up watching the tellytubbies !!!!!!!

  • These programmes were so trippy. RTE kid's stuff is really terrible today.

  • Starts off well! Gets worrying! Bosco?

  • what was the name of the witch?

  • The Whirligig Witch I think.

  • have you any clips from fortycoats? pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease!
