  • Wow, this video put every individual piece of the puzzle together right in front of my eyes. I have previously made this exact same journey backwards to realize I'm an atheist. This is an excellent video. I would explain it as I was living in a box but once I took one look at the box and asked a question, everything started crumbling around me until there was nothing left. Thanks for posting.

  • Stef, nice to see you talk about the Deist "creator" in the beginning of this video. I agree with that idea of that kind of a creator, but also understand completely that whether it exists or not, should have no effect on our lives, or our universe (or multiverse).

  • "but I've chose religion, because I wanna go to hell" - WIN!

  • the problem is argue religion from a western veiw! are you are aware that atheism is considered a path to enlightment in hinduism? did not math come from a religious environment? western religion opposes reason ...hindus embrace it! ..your arguments fail with us..the east gave you logic and reason..

"We owe a lot to Indians who taught us how to count, without which no worthwhile scientific discovery could have been made." > einstein nuff said!

  • I do not believe that God speaks more to the pastor than me. I just believe that he has studied the Bible more than I have (Thats a pretty safe assumption)

  • I think this section was a bit more objective and I enjoyed the critique of organized religion. Its much more interesting and enjoyable than the previous for me. I liked the more logical assessment of many assumptions in major religions and theology.

  • We need to get you in front of the choir, if you know what I mean.

  • What's null hypothesis? The hypothesis that nothing exists? I doubt it is that, but I didn't hear you explain what you mean by null hypothesis.

  • A 'null hypothesis' is the test against which a theory can be disproven. If a theory can never be disproven, it has no value. For instance, scientific theories always have one or more 'null hypotheses'.

  • I'm an atheist/non-religious BUT I do read mythology, ancient and world religious, and the major modern day religious works . . . I don't take these works for anymore than fictional works or fairy tales for that matter, but they teach some ways to live a 'good' life and that's why I read them. I question them throughly and compare them to see if it's not just religious/cultural bias I'm doing. I just don't want to be ignorant others religions that's all. Any others like this?

  • Wow! I posted before your whole 'show' was over, anyways, many of the things you say at the end around 30 min till the end I discovered for myself and because of this I totally agree

  • I am that way. One has to understand

what mental idea the physical metaphor

    refers.

  • With reference to your comments on religion in the closing moments of this video, does philosophy ever 'contradict' itself ??

  • Ideally, no, it shouldn't... :)

  • about the prayer and such; you say, for ex. around min. 15 that a proof would be a single atom that would be affected.

How about at the subatomic levels?

Science doesn't know how the matter behaves at such a level. A change may occur without

having the thermodyamic law broken at all.

  • i get what your trying to say (been their b4) but than what do you say of all prayers that dont come true?

  • even stef, around min 27 is saying that prayers or meditation may have benefits.

how the prayers work, it's a different issue.

Here, I reckon, the religions come into play...

  • i totally agree with you

  • i believe that your quick wit, and comedy, will both destroy the platitudes of the common spokesperson, and provide comedic relief to the general public. please consider a more productive outlet (while you continue to provide us youtubers with great material.)

  • there is no reason to replace religion with anything! ethics come from a person's moral intuition, which is strongly related with logic and reality. i havent seen what replacement you had in mind, but i just wanted to comment anyway. thanks for the great videos.

  • I agree with you completely, keep going!

  • why don't i see you in the news!? stef!!

  • I never understood why monotheism was considered superior to polytheism when the latter is obviously less illogical. This is fortunate for Christianity in its dialogue with Islam.

  • "If you believe in things you don't understand, you suffer; superstition ain't the way".

    Stevie Wonder

  • Amen, brother, great song!

  • you make an excellent case against organized religion. great video!
