Yeah right, I had an Axe-Fx Ultra, and can tell you one thing for sure after owning, #1, a 79 Marshall JMP Mark 11, and Mesa single Rectifier, a mark V, many fender 2x12 amps, vox, you name it buddy, the Axe-Fx is awesome for studio, no question, but DOES NOT CUT IT as a live rig for stage. Does not compare to real tube BIG, FAT< Punchy sound. Not even for a second. Its effects are wicked awesome, its amp sims, not even close for live application. It emulates studio sound only.
@yitboy11 Your a dumb fuck! I play Blues/jazz/old rock/folk/bluegrass/ragtime/etc.. I was not asking for myself i play with some guys who needed a guitar player because its fun to play different styles.. I have played since i was 8 years old i dont need to cover up my playing. Where are your videos?? oh master of tone?
@eatthemoon13 1) thank you for the nice comment (master of tone) :) 2) there is no need for profanity 3) I'm sure you're a great player but i didn't need a biography 4) I simply making a generalization of most high gain seekers, not to bash you 5) I would love to post videos but all my cash is tied up in guitar gear, and unfortunately don't have the funds to buy video recording software to produce a quality video 6) be more upset over a youtube comment, makes you look real good
@eatthemoon13 Thanks gramps for the advice, but you must be real immature for your age letting such a "youngin" like me get under your skin so badly. I woulda thought your parents would have brought you up better and the years "behind your belt" would have made you a bigger man. Guess not, and now you judge my playing without so much hearing a single note... being a bit hypocritical aren't we? Huff and Puff some more it's just comical now
By an Axe Fx dude. Sounds way better, and 100 times more versatile.I owned a roadster, it is gone now.

@rastadarrin if you want real tone, get real tubes. Emulation is for schmoes!

Did you get the Chrome plating special order or did it come std on your Mesa head. I've only seen them Black in 2010-2011

@hawg427 that is a black plate but the light reflection makes it look chrome.

Mesa Rectifier doesn't sound good until you put an EQ in the effects loop.
These things need a built in 7 band EQ.

I really think this is the best amp ever but...you really messed up the tone dude..

the most metal amp ever
MetalMan1023 1 year ago
@MetalMan1023
Rectifier is good. But check out the Diezel Herbert. I believe the Herbert is a better metal amp than the Rectifier.
But dollar for dollar, Mesa amps are the best in the world.

@eatthemoon13 the appropriate question should have been, "Which amp can i disguise my shitty playing with more?"

blame it on the zak wylde OD he's using and the fact that it's not turned up loud
two biiiig factors to that thinner sound
the amp is definitely a monster at live volume levels
