I was at those Brisbane Botanical Gardens concerts, amazing memories of the 70's being young and full of passion for music and misadventure. Thank you for the best times
Can someone help me here with a chorus lyric.. " Share my bed until the day, ?????? I'll try to take you away" I just can't get it. This song would remix brilliantly into a modern dance tune
Hi Jon. I bought this album back in the 70's, had recently mentioned Railroad Gin to some blogging friends of mine, searched youtube and.....surprise....surprise....!!!!
I was just that bit too young to catch them at any clubs in Brisbane in their heyday, so most of what i heard of them was on the radio; but I always thought Carol Lloyd was the Aussie equivilant of Janis Joplin. They both had a great ballsy voice - perfect for blues based songs. Great vid & thanks for posting.
Aaaah, I have been trying to remember this song now for months. Little bits of it going over my mind. Now I have found it I am playing it over and over. I feel emotionally spent, but deeply satisfied.
Great stuff, brings back some happy memories of Brisbane in the early 1970s. Saw these guys at the University of Queensland refectory in early 1974, Carol Lloyd stealing the show like the flame-haired whirling dervish that she was. Thank you so much for posting this clip, tremendous.
Dude, WHERE on earth did you get this? I have to ask b'c my brother Phil was the lead guitarist....the first person in the shot with the white guitar & I was at the recording of this as a 13 yr old kid!! I thought it had been lost forever & I can't imagine how you got hold of it!! Please share! Without modern media, lost of their stuff is just a memory.....but an awesome one!! Thank you SO MUCH for sharing this :) Meri
Long before Powderfinger emerged here in Brisbane we had the wonderful Railroad Gin. I still have the vinyl single - first one that I ever bought actually.
Yeah, great song, yet another way underrated Aussie Brisbane band from the seventies. Carol Lloyd is very powerful, both on stage, and vocally. Thanks for sharing.
I have this LP in mint condition. Anyone interested?

Good to see they're still remembered!
PS, were they originally from New Zealand?

@Dugganite They sure are still remembered. As for the New Zealand thing, I don't believe so. At least not all of them.
