  • this ride killed a 11 year old, they couldnt figure out why he died...

    Source: WikiPedia

  • @simerpreet11 He had a preexisting medical condition and shouldn't have been riding coasters int he first place, it didn't "kill him."

  • my very first coaster....you always remember our first! :)

  • hehe I rode this on my eighth grade trip to sfog back in '89, Wow that's was so long ago!

  • When did they tear that down?

  • @skullsk8er1230 Don't know exactly when it left SFoG, but it was scrapped in 2007 after sitting dormant at Magic Mountain for several years.

  • The Ride Was Renamed From Z Force To Flashback

  • . . . and demolished in 2003

  • @Nintendo160

    Yes.

  • Back then the Z Force was looked at as futuristic coaster. It was replaced by the Ninja coaster that gives you a severe headache.

  • Ninja is such a lame ride!

  • I remember hearing that story about the boy dying, Also, I remember hearing about a 12 year old girl getting brain damage from it and supposedly that's why they closed it down. I never found out if either rumor was true or not. Anyway, I loved this ride and remember the day they opened it @ Great America just outside of Chicago in 1985.

  • @PeteZavala Yes, that story was true. I lived in Georgia throughout the 80s and 90s and a young man DID break his neck on the Z Force. The 12 year old girl story doesn't ring a bell, but the broken neck is 100% true, it was all over the news at the time. The Z Force had a bad reputation as a killing machine.

  • @EmperorofCartoons On July 18, 1989, an 11-year-old boy from Talladega, Alabama became unconscious while riding Z-Force. Park staff performed CPR, but the victim was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital.

  • @EmperorofCartoons It didn't break his neck moron

  • How did the boy die on z force?

  • he had a preexisting neck or heart condition (i forgot which), and he was unconscious when he returned to the station. he died shortly after being taken off the ride by paramedics.

  • @skylark1121 Broken neck.

  • Haha...$3 off???

I know prices have gone up but they give you like $25 off now with a Coke can!

  • an 11 year old boy died on the Z-force and that's why it closed.

  • it reopened after the boy's death but was removed shortly thereafter. it was part of a six flags ride rotation program anyway and was never intended to be a permanent fixture at the park.

  • what's that baseball player calld on the alanta braves ???????????

  • um.... ok....

  • wish i could have rode it when it was Flashback, just didnt know about it before it closed down

  • z force was ok

  • Who the hell is Chuck Tanner?

  • he was a former manager for the Braves for 2 years 86-88

  • (This is the same guy you replied to about Chuck)

Then that explains why I haven't heard of him. I was born in 1989, and the only manager I've known is Bobby Cox.

  • commercials were so corny in the 80s

  • @wierdo135 no

  • @wierdo135

cornier in this case than the mr. six commercials? /:

  • there are 3 advertisements all fit into 30 seconds: six flags, Wendy's, Braves Baseball

    all unrelated

  • wow... they could of made it ALOT BETTER by putting in new cars and fix up the track.. this pisses me off it was a great coaster..RIP

  • DEAD!!! it's DEAD!!!! finally, i dont have to hear people ask "what the hell was THAT like?"

  • does any body know what happened a long time ago to those three kids on it??>?

  • That's Z-force at great america. it was moved to magic mountain and renamed flashback. now they are trashing it. no one ever liked it anyways, but they did consider moving it indoors. I went to magic mountain during summer.

  • That was Z-Force at Over Georgia. It moved from Great America to Over Georgia, then it moved for the final time to Magic Mountain. And anyways, that was the Braves manager talking about it.

  • wow

  • yup....

  • Is That FlashBack?

  • Yes, it is...or was.
