The problem with this type of thinking is that not everyone can generate valuable information products. Sure you may have a high end niche skill that rich people will pay you for, but the chances are likely you wont. Also, the market is already getting full of second rate info gurus trying to peddle their programs for $997 or whatever. Nobody wants to buy this crap anymore... its like Amway in the 70s and 80s all over again.
