The harsh lyrics, sincere, driving, monotonous music and the contrasting lovely and hopeful melodies and La La La La La's get to me. I sing along, but you hear those words (which this American 30 years later only understand about 40%) and the tone in which he sings, and, man, he painted a picture. One of my all time favorites. I cannot help but transform into cigerette smoking, middle finger giving, guy when it plays in my car. "THINKING BOUT YOUR HOLIDAY!"
The Jam were one of the most important bands in Britain, hence one of the most important bands on the planet, makes you proud to be british, but 99.999999999% of the world population just don't get it. And I would absolutely agree. He always was one of the most acute observers of real life in Thatcher's Britain. This song is truly timeless, as relevant now as it ever was. I sometimes forget just how good they were; watching this takes me back to when they were at their most exciting.

And she's good at her job. I learn a lot in her lessons. However, it was a recap lesson, so actually, whilst doing the work in the books correctly, I was singing.
