I am using a 14" wuhan lion china cymbal. It runs about 20 bucks. I can't recommend it enough. It's cheap as hell, and it sounds killer when recorded!
dude why are you only using 4 mics on that kit and wtf is an open sound. if you have cubase you can mic up all the kit and still mess around with it so it sounds "open".
dude all your fuckin covers are epic. you got some fukin quick feet on ya. try anything from THE GHOST INSIDE. stuff like BLUE AND GOLD and FAITH AND DESTINED. and try some more hardcre beats. CARPATHIAN and stuff
Thanks for the comment! Since the shooting of this video I've switched my tom heads to Evans coated G2s and the difference is frickin' amazing. Such a better tone and definition
wow thanks. ive heard they really dull the overtones out and have great low end attack. i havent had them on the toms. ive an ec reversed dot snare head. and it sounds pretty amazing on a piccollo tom or tuned high.... idk anyways ur a great drummer! keep playing. you should do some born of osiris stuff!
you said you used 2 firepod? does it make it 16 channels? or they are conneceted by spdIF making it 10 channels? please answer me? how many channels can you get using firepods and how do u do it? how do you define the master clock?
The firepod's have 8 preamps each, making 16 total analog channels of input. You could go up to 20 using the s/pdif inputs on each.
The firepod's are clocked internally through their software control panel, so no external clock is needed. All you need to do is update the drivers on the firepods and BAM you've got 16 analog inputs in your DAW
I clicked this video expecting to be dissappointed, but I must say it is very much the opposite... great job all around bro.. timing is right on, you got pretty much everything dead-on!
I'm using a 12x3 Tama Hand Hammered steel snare. I think this model has been discontinued, though. I bought mine on ebay a few years back. What type of snare / head combination are you using?
Well what seems to have worked for me for my recent combination of heads is either an Evans G2 coated on the top or a Remo Coated Emperor, and simple a single ply clear head on the bottom. I tuned the bottom head pretty high so I get a lot of snare sound, even with the lightest hits. I then tune the top head pretty much until I think the snare sounds good. It's usually a bit looser than the bottom head. I've also got some tape on the head for taming those pesky overtones. Hope this helps!
Yeah I know the mix isn't one of my better ones. My monitors hadn't come in the mail yet so I was forced to mix on my computer speakers, which were pretty crappy
Yeah I could play that song and do a video for it. The only unfortunate part is that I wont be able to make the actual video for a while because I don't have access to my camcorder anymore.
I could, but it will have to wait a couple of weeks because I'm now back at school and no longer have access to a video camera. What song would you like, though?
Oh man I have to say that you are my favourite drummer after scott phillips.....its amazing to see you play the double base....love your shit...i hope for new vids.....greatings from germany
I love this, it's really awesome. Be sure to keep it up... And I have a suggestion... :P
You should do more ASP songs... One in particular that would be really cool is, "Herding The Brainwashed" from their Hate.Malice.Revenge. album. Great drumming song. :P
Thanks, again, for the comments. I am 19 years old, turning the big 2 0 in December. I can try and get into a studio within the next week or two (I'll be booking the live room at RCA Studio B in Nashville and bringing my own equipment) after I finish a tracking session for a project.
I guess if you want to hear more, check back periodically on my youtube account

eyerecorddrums 3 years ago
so actually when you connect between the 2 FP you use the extra firewire connection, right?
petomazor 3 years ago
I mean, the spdif is only for another 2 digital signals, not for connecting between them, right?
by the way thanks!!!
petomazor 3 years ago
Well you can use the spdif connection as a way to use an external clock with the firepods, but other wise, yes. Spdif is just a stereo digital signal
