@memmies I hope you're okay. I can't imagine what pain you've felt, but please get some help. Your mother would want it. Even we here who don't know you- but share your love of this song- hope you find a way to go on.
@bze2nlz4 Thanks for letting me know. You read all kinds of stuff in Youtube comments, but this sounded genuine- and very disturbing. On a very different note, thank you for this wonderful channel of yours. I just discovered it, after listening to the Left Banke song you've posted here. A very Happy New Year.
remember the 60'swhen we kids had this goal to go buy a certain record we heard on the radio, pestered parents for a little more change to make about a dollar we could walk downtown to the record shop and there it was! a colorful record shiniest vinyl they'd put it in a little sleeve with a handle to carry, couldn't wait to get home.miss those days.
i used to fingerpick this on my 12 string when this came out.. think i`ll start playing this tune again, what a fantastic piece. hope i can find someone to sing it in my band.
Since you are such a big Left Banke fan, could you provide a link to leftbanke dot nu and the official Left Banke fanpage on Facebook in your description?
The Left Banke created this unique baroque rock sound during the British Invasion period of the 60's. A truly innovative sound, they lasted only briefy with this and their '67 hit "Pretty Ballerina" which is a must for those who enjoy this style.
We're so fortunate to have these historic videos to give the baby boomers another chance to hear them. It seems that many of these great songs of the ages have endurance. Can't imagine ever listening to 40- 50 year old music when we were younger.
I was absolutely in love with this song when it came out. I played it over and over. The words, the melody, the quality of tranquility that abounds in the song is beautiful to my ears. This song spoke to me in a very soulful, ethereal way. I had not heard it in years and, alas, again it is music to my ears! Thank you EVER SO MUCH FOR THIS POST.
So pretty a melody.....those vocals...by 15 year old Esteban Martin ....why is today's pop anything close?

This song is just gorgeous...so moving. Somewhere a mountain is moving...afraid it's moving without me.

So amazing what passes for music today. These 60s groups were real artists, they produced the sound not some sort of electronic filter.

Haunting and lyrical; great music from another consciousness!

this was back when true creativity could be played on the radio. Then money took over and all they do is try to copy whatever sound is selling

This is a great song with a great slide show. I like the Early American Costumes at 0:42. Reminds me of Paul Revere & The Raiders.
Love this song a lot. Thanks Chris for sharing this great video :)
