Disturbing Billy while he's reading his father's book, destroying his 9 year long carving project, erasing his book just finished after 10 years, ruining his perfect game in bowling... John must really hate him.
Nice library rendition of an awesome parody. That episode really puts the full power of Billy Quan's legendarily powerful kick, especially going around the library aisle. XD
By far my favorite reoccurring bit on "Almost Live." I always hoped every new episode would feature Billy's flying kicks around corners or down a flight of stairs. But Joe Guppy's dramatic reading of the Washington State Driver's Manual was a LOL for the ages, as well. Thank you John Keister and company!
Man this is still one of my all time shows. Almost Live was fantastic and wildly creative. The last gasp of old-Seattle before it became hip & gentrified. Jokes about Ballard or Renton or Kent just don't work anymore because it's all homoginized. But damn, these were GREAT bits! My best friend's sister was a mucky muck in NYNY & he'd send tapes of the shows & she & her friends would have "Almost Live" parties watching. Thanks for sharing, peace!

Yes, the local channel that aired them originally, King 5 (nbc affiliate), airs two episodes after SNL every week.

Who plays Keister's voice?
acrobatsutr 2 years ago
I think Keister might do his own voice, actually. It took me an embarrassingly long time to realize Pat Cashman did Billy's voice.

Yes, Seattle could do one or 2 things Vancouver couldn't : allow a TV show that pokes fun at its own city and actually have funny sketches.

I think it's funny when the guy in the library is laughing while Billy is trying to read.

I used to watch Almost Live all the time. Billy Quan was the best thing about it, and "Library of Death" was always my favorite of all his skits.

I loved Almost Live growing up in Auburn in the '80s. Billy Quan was the best of all skits.
