Is it as real as you see it is, but as far as I know, this ending is not achievable in original MI2, it's rather edited video. Besides, if you're any familiar with the series, something like this wouldn't fit to their style.

Well, I first played this game 12 years ago , and have played this game since then numerous times but never have run across these, so I highly doubt these alternates are really possible :D

But I highly recommend you to play this one, my favourite of the series, :)

the original game creators played no part in the 3rd game, so they decided the best way to explain what they were thinking was to ignore it completely and come up with an intro as ridiculous as the ending was to the second game. dunno why someone poor commented you, it's a pretty legit question

That's not true! They came up with this idea that the whole MI2 ending was LeChuck's voodoo plan (Carnival of the Dead). Guybrush finds himself escaping from that without really remembering how. The bumper car he's sailing on during the MI3 intro is from that carnival.

It's all explained in the intro & finale, They didn't "ignored" it... They just wanted to do another game and manipulated the story as good as they could (good enough for me, I think MI3 is the best one).
