  • This video is a favorite on Tuvalu

  • huge neodymium magnets mixed with powerful electromagnets combined with ....dammit forgot what they were called ! those things where there like batteries but they pulse there energy to boost energy output. ya those things . well, anyway get all of that put together in the right way and you get this! im thinking about making a hand version of it lol, except It wouldnt be portable :( no force powers outside the house

  • @TheMegaFracture practical use would be for lifting heavy objects

  • The used magnetic field is so strong that it aligns molecules and by that gives magnetic properties to everything in it

  • now make a big one

  • @commentXrateXsubscrb This IS the big one!!! This thing's got it's own power plant to run it.

  • co za asy

  • 0:16 they see me rollin', they hatin'.....

  • 00:25 THATS FUCKED UP. LOL

  • I'd like to try the first human sized uber-B-field machine.

  • WITCHCRAFT !!!!!

  • WHAT SORCERY IS THIS?!!!

  • i dont get it?

  • I'm pitching a pretty cool diamagnetic levitation sculpture on kickstarter. (Search for 'levitation'.) Fully adjustable, so you could buy your own magnets and experiment too!

  • name of the song?

  • I knew being a Jedi is possible!!!!!

  • I wonder if it would be possible to create better earthquake-resistant structures using these ideas? Too far out there for now- probably- but look at the advances since 1911. Screw making war, why can't we stick to science, something that at least has a *shot* to actually be good for mankind...

  • what if you used superpowerful mini ones to control water. Drop a tsunami on my teacher if i get one more f. you could use superconducting versions of this (carbon nanotubes?)

  • soooo sexyyyy!

  • Is it safe for people though? Somehow I doubt it.

  • yes but will it blend

  • @kazumavangaren OLOLOLOL!!! You're only the 921883th person to do that joke!!

  • How many Teslas can Magento produce?? Can Magneto create a strong magnetic field so any human can be levitated because it would be turned into a diamagnetic body?

  • @drcuello Magneto is a fictional character -_- whatever he can do is because artist who made the comics drew him doing it

  • i like earth :)

  • if only they can make levitation magnets big enough for people to go in, i would be first in line.

  • magneto will be unstopable

  • aaaaaah My Ears .... :o

  • The music makes watching the frog hilarious

  • I would like to put my penis into this machine

  • The frog probably had what amounted to a psychotic episode in that field ;-)

  • And this is useful for what? Floating frogs at the cost of half a million per hour? This is just one incredibly expensive waste of power. Go science!

  • @frosted1030 - jealous. bet if you could do this to humans you would be first in line

  • @Jdiddy1792 it can be done to a human, but who has that kind of cash?

  • @frosted1030

it can be done to a human

if you cut him to pieces

  • SICK SONG!!

  • @areyoukiddinmeh i think its ratatat

  • Can the opposite happen so we can simulate Gravity on a spaceship, without having to keep away from a certain pole of a magnet? Be funny to be walking along a space ship with south pole magnetic boots and you walk across a south pole and get fired up against the ceiling.

  • Can the opposite happen so we can simulate Gravity on a spaceship, without having to keep away from a certain pole of a magnet? Be funny to be walking along a space ship with south pole magnetic boots and you walk across a north pole and get fired up against the ceiling.

  • Sounds safe, looks practical

  • I live in Nijmegen, Holland, but i've never seen That magnet :(

  • nice song.. what is it?

  • I think induction coils are used do do the experiments seen.

  • the bug is like WTF GET ME OUT OF HERE!!!

  • link in description broken

  • Fucking magnets how do they work?

  • Sorry but 90 pound nerd in the room, at 0:42 and around there it totally looked like the levatating "red matter" from the newist star treck movie. Ya know, the stuff in spok's ship that cause black holes. Just saying.

  • @Daaviator5896 the red stuff is a tomato, tomatos taste good

  • @jme008 "Everything thinks I'm so cool right now." ... nice.

  • @jme008 It's not a point of view, it's a statment of facts. You wouldn't get on that sope box of your's if i were to say that the sky is blue becalus of rayleigh scattering, would you? Besides, you are the only person to yell at me, and at the current time, 63 more people DO think that comment was good than bad. In other words, you didn't even bring up one valid point.

  • i saw this on TV, its just i HUUUUUGE magnet, and its really cool

  • lol

    0:39 "WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUUU-"

  • awww.... the link's broken.

  • Rocking the ratatat

  • That frog is probably thinking "What the hell?"

  • VERY VERY VERY COOOOOOL !

  • 0:25 Looks like the Sony Ericsson Logo

  • i like ratatat !

  • poor frog :( 0:15

  • The frog's like holy shit what the fuck

  • wtf

  • i love how scientists get millions of dollars to make some of the worlds most advanced music, then they break out the funky music and screw around with it. this renews my faith in humanity.

  • poor animals

  • i wanna know the song used. it's nice

  • @chroniclevision Lex by Ratatat

  • I want that so that humans can levitate!!!!!!

  • It's like the Force on steroids!!!

  • I thought increasing the amount of teslas could cause things like cancer? Maybe if we figure out how to prevent strong magnetic fields causing cancer in our cells, this could be veeeery useful... (Catapulting people, mid air sleeping or even to preven astronauts levitating in space...[0 gravity is a bitch when you have to go to the toilet..xDD])

    Anyway...nice!!

  • @OpiSenpai Take it from a Physician: Magnetic fields do not cause cancer. (at least at the levels we can currently produce). Magnetic fields have too little energy to mess DNA. They will nevertheless polarize water molecules and when they the field turns off, they will resume regular polarity, giving off energy. This is know as MRI ! We still haven't lost any of our patients going through the magnet!

  • 0:20 hehehe, the frog did a *facetank*

  • for this is the work of the devil, beware and apologize for your sins!!! :0)

  • Fuckin diamagnets, how do they work?

  • @Zgamer618 Some materials create an opposing magnetic field when an external magnetic field is applied to them which causes a repulsive force instead of an attractive force. Thus diamagnetic materials can levitate away from a strong magnetic field instead of being sucked in.

  • @Zgamer618 ask the mormons.

  • Nice!

  • the bug is thinking "WTF is happening???"

  • when can this be applied to sexual intercourse?

  • @3xAwesome3x Whenever Japan gets bored enough to stop watching tentacle porn and switch to levitation porn.

  • Ignoring the factor of cost or power needed, could I modify an MRI to do this?

  • wtf?!

  • animals would be trippin XD

  • poor frogie =(

  • i'd think the super high magnetism would rip the cells of the animals apart, and mess up their brain, but wow thats frigging cool :P

  • that s funny ... what s the music please ?

  • ratatat-lex

  • the new official site is 3xw(dot)ru(dot)nl(slash)hfml

  • eeeewwww

  • Floating Frog!!

  • such a good song

  • that frog is like WHAT THE FUCK!!!!

  • @steve1837 Yes you are right. The frog was probably "like what the fuck." I wasn't able to see that myself but when I replayed the video I was able to observe that possibility very clearly based entirely on your keen observation. just kidding!

  • SonyEricson logo:

    0:33

  • trippy dude

  • poor frog

  • leg from frog delit.... meby anigilation =)

  • RATATAT <3<3<3<3<3

  • ratatat nice choice of music

  • poor animals :(

  • Animal cruelty? Or are they having the time of their life?

Hmmn... I think when this type of thing is in the theoretical stages, it is really exciting. But then, when they actually 'do it', it just becomes normal, everyday and eventually mediocre.

Is this why our planet floats in a spherical shape?

PS: My favourite Ratatat song is 'Loud Pipes' from their 2006 album 'Classics' (Is that a best of compilation, or just the title of it? Nevermind, I will check Wikipedia in a second.)

  • while watching this i was listening to the song bleed be meshuggah...it fits almost perfectly for some reason

  • OH MY GOSH THIS IS SO COOL!!! :D

  • Thumbs up for the frog floating.

  • that frog must have been scared...

  • Another thing they don't say is that frog died...

  • please give me some funding ... I like electromagnets... Want to make frogs and tomatoes float!!! hmmm let me see ... ok here you go

  • Ratatat awesome

  • how cool wld it b to have a human sized one? final achievement of zero G wld b cool

  • what song is this

  • was that frog missing a limb?!?

  • @JASONizH4X LMAO didnt even notice

  • the grasshopper is break danceing

  • woot Ratatat ftw

  • That frog must thing hes tripping.

  • @Hahahahahaaaaahahhaa prob licked a toad, XD

  • That looks really nice!

  • MAN id have so much fun with that

if only it were human sized!

id even have fun with the mini one too, id fuck around with frogs for hours on end

  • what's the name of that song???

  • Lex by ratatat

  • does anyone know what kind of energy was used to achieve this? volts, amps,AC,DC, what?

  • Free energy !

  • to much

  • @arnie71 - You might want to rephrase your question, because at the moment it makes no sense. Volts and Amps are units of measurement of their respective dimensions (Voltage and Current), and AC & DC are descriptions of the flow of electrical charge.

  • @19JP87 I know that I used pretty general terms, but I had not found out anything about how the electromagnetic field was created. and I don't like to assume anything. I am sure that it must have been alot of energy. Especially if it was done by main stream scientists.

  • what you see is a 32mm hole.

what you don't see is the van-sized cylinder it's in, the small building of equipment to control, contain and cool it (otherwise it would both melt and tear it self apart), and the small town of power to create the 16-tesla field around the 32mm central voide.

  • so then, it would take about a city the size of new york to make a human sized tube like this?

    Dammit

  • I heard it is 45 T !

  • I heard it is 45 T !

  • @scienceprimo how do you know so much?

  • @spanglerangle It's on wikipedia.. lol

  • @scienceprimo I made a calculation, which is 1k turn and 10A but it just generate 0.39 tesla @@ how much would it need to generate 16!

  • @scienceprimo exactly how computers used to be. Look where we are now.

  • @scienceprimo Sorry to tell you but what you see here is real.

Its in a sience lab in the netherlands

  • @scienceprimo thats interesting to know thank you for tell this small bit of detail theu left out

  • @scienceprimo Oh, yes, the stuff you DON"T see! Nice that your comment is voted highest. Shows that we are dealing with folks that know enough to appreciate the engineering taking place here.

  • Awesome, I want to have something like that

  • omfg that's cool

  • So you can use this for zero grav astronaut training

  • Well maybe, but you'd need massive magnets, and ridiculous amounts of energy to acieve that. Remember that was a 32mm gap, and if you want to train astronauts your going to need something the size of a hangar, also people are alot heavier than insects, so you're going to need even more power for that. The main problem though would be how you could control yourself in that situation. Since the magnets are repeling you from every side you would just sit rolling around in the middle not moving.

  • I was joking

  • Hutchison Effect? Maybe if we find the right frequency we can make it pull or push without causing harm.

  • Oh shit fuck that! it is cool!! xD

  • Anybody know how to convert Teslas into Webers?

  • Tesla and Webers are 2 different kind of units, so you can't really convert from one to the other.

Tesla is a magnetic field unit, while Weber is a field flow unit. Tesla can be expressed though as Wb per square meter too. (Wb/m^2)

  • That was very helpfull, thanks!

  • You don't they are unites for different things

    1T=1Wb/m^2

  • cool song and cool levitation,

    Check mine

  • frog: I should of not drink that 8th beer last night.

  • listened to 1st 1 and a bit seconds.. and I LOVE RATATAT!

  • I know the frog and the grasshopper are like " what the heck" They look confused!! LOL

  • at 00:11 it looks like the sony ericsson logo :)

  • btw, the animals in this experiment felt no after-effects. ie: completely safe for the animals

  • RATATAT!!!!

  • That poor frog. At least give it some acid first so it enjoys itself on the way out :D

  • now i believe more in flying martial artists.

  • YAY! RATATAT!!! LES

  • they should make a bigger one for people!

  • if my counts are right, the energy consumption to keep this gizmo up is about 0.2 Megawatt /cm(2) . a person projection, 0.2 squaremetres, so... 2000*0.2=400Mw..... we'll let you know :D

  • lol. i kno i was jking about for a person... but if we ever do have tht kind of energy to waste... ill b there

  • maybe it will be more useful when we will go staying on the moon :D

  • well less useful... but more efficient.

  • yeah , but it would be extremely dangerous

  • might cause brain damage lol

  • i feel Hi 0.o

  • sure, a poor guy with uboatstuff managed to make such a strong magnet...

i dont know how much energy they need for that:

a whole floor is only for the cooling of the magnet, there is such much resistent from the extrem power needed for that.

  • lol too bad they stole it from some poor guys house the story is he was messing around with all old u boat stuff and shit started to levitate when he tryed it again it didnt work but he had told people and they institutionalized him and when he returned all his stuff was mia poor man

  • 0:18 crazy frog

  • TESLA changed everything. SO SICK!

  • lol poor animals...I've seen this b4 so I know this is actually possible. It is funny, though.

  • Poor animals? Why? They don't even feel it.

  • stick ur dick in there :))

  • lol xD

  • Please REMOVE the listing on this (and ALL other) videos that no longer are available. Should be easy for "google" to do. Why waste out time.

  • i think that's a glitch with your computer.... this video works.

  • STUPID IDIOT

PELASE GOOGLE AN YOU WILL GET A LITTLE BIT MORE BRAIN..........maybe

    sry4bad eng.

  • Do you have mild mental retardation?

  • lol

  • Very nice !!!! :)

  • that frog must've been really confused

  • what is th name of the song???
