  • Extremely informative.

  • so when you come off the wake do you want to jump? or what do you do?

  • @tyler89r When you come off the wake you want to jump like it is a trampoline. Just push your board down hard. It will give you a pop.

  • @tyler89r If you want to just pop up and not go wake to wake you can just lean on your heals/toes and you will pop up about 2 feet. If you want to go big pump on the wake

  • 1:23 for the Tut

  • Nobody beats Matt Crowhurst at wake-boarding tutorials!

  • I like jumping heelside

  • @Thewakeboardpro101 Me too. Heel side jumps feel more comfortable to me.

  • intro is a little long man

  • I've been riding for 3 months and managed to get my wake to wake heel side on a 55 ft rope now im practising my toeside, thanks for the great tutorial!

  • I'm not sure if I quite understand this, so basically when I'm about to hit the wake, I put more pressure on me heels? Not sure if I understand.

  • These are really good tutorials.

  • What is the best way from keeping your arms from extending when coming down? I seem to be hitting the edge correctly, but it always seems like my arms are too extending upon landing. Same for toe side jumps. I can't seem to keep the arms from extending.

  • he makes it look so easy, i've been trying to get it for almost 2 years

  • to do tricks like a wake to wake jump and tantrums and heelside back rolls do u need to have a boat where the rope hooks to the tower or can it hook to the bottom or will that make it to hard to do stuff like that?

  • I am a wakeboarder myself and this dude has some ricious skills. Main thing is to just never give up when u do a jump. Strive for what you want and u will suceed in the matter of which the profection u try it. People don't get u get wht u can tke for wakeboarding. but keep trying people. Lol :) *Ashley

  • Matt i know you from westhampnett lake in chichester and your a reall good rider i can now do a jetty jump start and im learning to jump the wake. harry age 12

  • Matt Thanks for the reply bro. Im going to take the edge as hard as I can next pass and see if I can handle the rope at loading and realease. Sometimes I feel so much pressure built up that when I try to load the line it just pops out of my hand. I'm gonna hammer it.

  • Matt you go hard dude, any tips anyone how to create maxium pop off the top of the wake. I feel like when I stand tall its taking me off my edge. Stand tall while staying on edge right?

  • You're dead right, the edge is the most important thing, come off your edge and you lose control, resistance to the boat and pop. If you want a more 'up & down', 'explosive' pop, you can start to bring your approach in, starting closer to the wake. You then don't have as much time for a slow turn, have to force that turn a bit more and get on your edge quicker. This can sacrifice position if not done properly so make sure your technique is bang on from out wide and come in closer bit by bit.....

  • ....the physics of it are, that if you apply more energy (edge/resistance) in shorter space of time, it will release a lot quicker, therefore be more explosive and send you up over sending you more across. I tell people to start from wide because it makes the approach happen more naturally and the pop more controlled and manageable

  • How fast do you guys go?

    We usualy go 19-20 knots.

  • Not being a sea fairing chap I'm not sure what it is in knots but depending on the boat usually between 20 & 24mph

  • how come your rope is pulling you up ?? how do you do it ??

  • Can I ask the speed and the length of the rope for the wake to wake jumps?

  • OK, here are the basic rules. The longer the line, the smaller the wake, the further apart they are and the faster the boat will have to go for wake to be clean. When learning to wake jump, start on a long line, to point where wake is clean, so you can go big but not land near the 2nd wake. Once confident, shorten right up - really short - so wakes are big, super close together and go for it. Then you can work the line out longer bit by bit as you get it dialled!

  • Sick wid it! I boarded for the second time and landed a few jumps from the inside of the wake out! I cant wait til my next session on a board now that i've seen this vid! Ride on Crohurst!

  • Glad you liked it and hope it helps your riding progress!
