  • Phoenix Park, July 2012!! Bring it on!!!! :D

  • How do you sleep ? . knowing ya spelt tha fuckin tune wrong ?:D at night HAHAHAHA

  • Was this track not just called "How do you sleep"?

  • i just hope they come to finland xS ..probably wont, though : /

  • got my tickets.BORO love the roses

  • This song always reminds of spending 2 days in Paris stoned. I'd had this on repeat for some reason.

  • i love this song because if this is playing and i ask for something he says yes all the time

  • trying to imagine the buzz and the intensity when they are about to come on stage, 2012 here we come. at least we have a few months to plan how fucked up we want to be. imma light a big spliff when the crowd starts to roar.

  • @horse69outside

bring it on mate see u there..............its gonna be unbelievable

  • as good as it gets, mufc19x

  • i would definitely pay over the odds just to see the roses live

  • @invictorium

    You're gonna get your chance.

  • The greatest band of their generation

  • @chrishorrocks1 not quite you forgot the happy mondays lol

  • I heard this tune on last.fm and knew it was the stone roses. I just had to have it. Great song.

  • second coming was the roses at there best was a completely underated album was only stopped being one of the greatest albums ever because of the red tape that caused a 5 year delay in releasing it

  • so raise your glasses heres a toast to wasted lives.............poetry

  • A brilliant song from a hugely under-rated album. So much magic on Second Coming.

  • this is a question we need to ask cameron

  • Hopefully the Roses will get back together and do a few more albums.

No reason why not, and they still have all the talent in the world.

Led Zeppelin were together from 68 to 80, Roses from 83 to 95.

Zeppelin only ended with death of Bonham.

No excuse for Roses, as Reni never died, he just walked away.

  • @horse69outside

I don't think that's gonna happen, unfortunately John squire has given up music all together and taken up Art, such a bummer.....

  • @PinkyPlops dont be so sure pal.....keep an ear out next week ;)

  • This was always my favourite track from The Second Coming, reminds me more of early Steely Dan than anything else.

  • Its called "How do you sleep" dude - Well folk tell me when i upload somethin' wrong - Normally get called dick 'ed or somethin - Fuckers!!

    Quality upload though man!

  • Such an underrated band, I wish they'd get back together, even just for the song for Bond 23 or something.

  • it's one of the greatest songs ever..

  • much love and memories-dont know why i like it! but its the best!!!

  • timeless love the individual style of john and the twang in ians voice + renis enigmatic drums and manis warm bass sound

  • for gods sake, why cant squire and brown just fucking bring it back??? :(

  • @happykyle49 Same reason why Lennon & McCartney couldn't - too much bad blood. Fucking shame but that's the way it is :-(

  • @happykyle49 Internals. All the bitching. Pity.

  • Superb, has a very a Jesus And The Mary Chain vibe to it.

  • i love every single roses song but this one its good but the lyrics are shit

  • @campbelllovescock the lyrics are shit?? lol

are we both listening to the same tune??

  • predator coming for human trophies at a neighbourhood near you.....lol.

  • its the one band you can never tire of listening too ,, quite hard to pick a favourite tune

  • just love this tune ..this album i think is fkn class.. underated it maybe .. not by those who still think this band was the best thing we had for awhile..so glad i witnessed it .. great times... id do them all again..

  • the Roses mean so much to me and so many others, anybody who loves them, i automatically love them. so important to england these guys where.

  • Great song, sounds like a cheesey opening to an tv sitcom though!!

  • @garyfox100 ya fukin hell it does ha

  • It was mean't for every cheating bastard out there !!!! hahaha

  • The most underrated band of all time.

  • @mufcok1878 and the second coming is the most underated album of all time thank fuck we can all go c brown solo the greatest frontman ever

  • fuckin beauty beat you cunts

, every cunt lets get our holes

  • Love the Roses but this was by far the worst song on the Second Coming. Squire should've put that on that sorry Seahorses album, and let the boys put Can't See Me on the album instead.

  • TWO WORDS " PURE CLASS " ..

  • this songs about abortion

  • bollocks it is

  • its about there manager u fool, gareth evans for taking them to court,

  • @TempletonPec No it isn't.

  • much love ian, john, mani, reni! YOU GAVE US A REASON TO DANCE, TAKE DRUGS , BE HAPPY, AND FUCKIN LOVE MADCHESTER. "MAD FOR IT" GOOD TIMES GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTON. PEACE ALL

  • how do you spell FORGOTTEN??

  • classic tune from a very underrated album!!

  • This is my fav song by the Stone Roses.

I really love this band. I like this album... This song drives me fuckin' nuts!

    Cheers from Mexique!

  • The thing about the Roses for me is that thier songs have clear structured centres but always manage to sound improvisational. What a rarified level of musicianship, i'm not the sentimental type and i would always pay homage to the greats but i can't find a band that play with the feel and dexterity of the roses, this track showcases that for me. Psuedo-intellectual posing aside this is Foookin Brilliant!

  • Never mind comparing the Roses with these and those. These lads created something very special and will never be forgotten by those who followed them. Simple as...

  • @Ruab12 hear hear!

  • this was aimed at there former manager,..Gareth

  • great song great band

  • I agree with "pumpkins667" this album is so underrated.

  • writen about what they think of there old manager gareth evens cos he riped em off BAD

  • Love the 'Roses but the lyrics on this song simply jam!

  • what's a "military quick lime"?

  • from wiki: "Historian and philosopher David Hume, in his history of England, recounts how during early in the reign of Henry III the English Navy destroyed an invading French fleet, by blinding the enemy fleet with "quicklime," the old name for calcium oxide:

  • @ohweloveeverton it was stuff they put in shells in the 19th century that burned and blinded those on the receiving end

  • that album doesn't get the respect it deserves.

sure it's not as epic as the Roses' debut, but man there are several great songs from start to finish.

that song is my favorite on Second coming, makes me think of This is the one in quite a few ways.

  • how do you sleep at night, mmmm confused.

just keep it at how do you sleep.

  • This is one of several songs from the stone roses that are still f*cking fantastic; as good as the day they were released, like made of stone, waterfall, bye bye badman, I am the resurection and so on. I cant say they are as good as the Beatles but boy, are they in the general neighborhood! So much of their work have stood the test of time, the hardest test of all. Thank god for the stone roses!

  • i agree bud

i like the beatles as well but if you compare the 2 albums made to the beatles 7678876 albums lol the percentage of good tracks blow them away

  • Comment removed

  • The Stone Roses are our Beatles......take it how ya wanna.

  • best band of all time !!!

  • And the Stone Roses have influenced many, bands since 1989, just as the Beatles did from the early 60s, Both bands have their place in music history. If you don't like them, fine. No-one cares.

  • I like this band just fine, thank you very much. But to compare their influence to The Beatles is like comparing a bicycle to a harley.

  • maybe it ur piss attitude that got u the minus 1??

calling people morons cos there opinion is different, sound like arrogance to me m8

the beatles were influenced as well

the roses made 2 albums of top tunes, every track......even the beatles cant claim that

  • @lavyheed What about Elizabeth My Dear? That's just Scarborough Fair with one verse of changed lyrics.

  • @Jcahalane i know m8....whats your point....its still a top tune

  • what a fkn tune

  • "may all your ghosts come back to haunt you and tell you how they died"

"all my dreams your nightmares i hope they all come true"

great lyrics kinda fuckin deep in a way i think this album is full of great lyrics..

  • That lyric makes me think of Kurt Cobain.

  • love ths stone roses such a great song with lyrics like

"i've seen your severed head at a banquet for the dead" sounds cool as hell.

  • mounted and framed hung upon my wall

  • for blokes that weren;t gettin on, this is sublime ain,t it

  • George Bush are you listening?

  • @joa07caj It has been a long time since you posted but I think you'll find this was meant for Gareth Evans, not George Bush.

  • @joa07caj Of course he isn't.

  • the roses are like the who, jam, pistols, smiths, oasis, they influenced a generation, the clothes the haircuts, its more than just music

  • use talk some amount of pish elvis is the best and other boolocks theres only one great band and u are listening to them ya bunch of goons

  • you* not use/youse

    learn English

  • fucking awesome cant get enough

  • i've seen ur severed head at a banquet for the dead... wat a line mr squire, shame u let it all go up ur nose, stone roses forever!!

  • gareth evans r u listening .u wrecked the greatest band ever,,,,,,u tWAt

  • lol, a massive row about elvis under a stone roses tune! you wot! :)

  • jesus you cant even comment on music unless you know the roses !!!!!! oh ! the nostalgia this is wicked im stoned and it reminds me of happier times

  • HERE M8 IF THERE WAS NO ELVIS THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN NO BEATLES, MEANING NO STONE ROSES MEANING NO OASIS AND ALL THESE AMAZING BANDS john lennon said he was inspried from elvis to write songs so he did which inspired others, going on to get the roses which inspired Oasis....see so elvis probably was bigger than all of them even if the yankee twat neva wrote his own songs but with out them we wouldnt have the music we have today...and i prefer oasis, beatles, roses etc to elvis

  • If there had been no black folk singers in the US then there would have been no elvis.

  • if there was never blues their wouldnt have ever been the poser elvis who somehow got a signature martin that is $9000 or something like that

  • elvis is "only" a great. the beatles were in every way better than him. just because someone likes a band/artist doesnt mean they owe their career to that particular guy. Lennon + McCartney were still the songwriters with some of the other great works of George and Ringo

  • 3281 people have listened to this song. That is a disgrace.

  • Spine-tingling tune

  • 'I've seen your severed head at a banquet for the dead'. I can just imagine some heavy metal band singing that with fury and venom but The Stone Roses were not predictable- they still sung it with sweetness.

  • ..everbody in the world should force george bush, dick cheaney and friendly tony to listen to this song, over and over again....for ever

  • Okay I made a mistake there. I meant, not being old enough to go see them when they were together. Too busy listening to the song and not concentrating on what I was typing!

  • One of the best bands ever. Am 18 and the only regret I have was not being alive when they where still together. Been to a few tribute bands, but nothing can beat the actual band itself!

  • The memories nice one mate one of my favourites

  • Mi favourite Stone Roses's song!

Does it feel any better now?

Does it mean anymore, when the angel of death comes knock, knockin' and banging at yer door?

God bless The Stone Roses! Bigger than The Beatles.

  • dont be so foolish, i like the roses more than the beatles but to say they're bigger smacks of ignorance, not even elvis was or is bigger than lennon and co

  • I was just kidding, man!

Obviously... The Beatles are the greatest band. The Beatles are even better and biggest than Elvis.

  • please listen to a song called the legend by shebeen and let me know what you think, its class m8

  • "Beatles are bigger Than Elvis" what the fuck you trying to say???:D Elvis is 10x bigger than Beatles,Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin together. there can be only one king...

  • Ha..That's funny. Elvis didn't even write his own songs. You can't put him in the same league with The Beatles or the Rolling Stones. Elvis belongs in little league with Britney Spears. He is no different than the wannabes who sing kareoke on American Idol. The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Zeppelin, and Bob Dylan are true artists who express themselves through the words and melodies that THEY WRITE THEMSELVES!! Elvis just sang what he was told to sing...and that's it!!

  • sad that every people who dont like Elvis have to always say those words "elvis didnt even write his own songs...". Tell me if you know why the hell Elvis cd's/lp's/cassettes are sell over 2 billion pieces.

  • It has nothing to do with not liking Elvis. You just cannot compare him with The Beatles or Rolling Stones because writing songs is the ultimate art of music. Anything else is just glorified kareoke.

  • i dont really understand what the fuck are you saying? Elvis -> karaoke:D have you ever heard Elvis album called "50 000 000 million fans cant be wrong". Do you know who was John and Paul's biggest idol... Yes it was Elvis. Everybody who wants to speak true knows that Elvis is forever #1 after Elvis come Beatles. And then its a long long trip to find next important musicians.

  • I'd reverse that. Beatles #1 and Elvis #2. The Beatles have more #1 hits. The bottom line is, Elvis is a performer and The Beatles were artists. Before The Beatles, songs were manufactured on an assembly line. One person wrote the songs, someone else played the music, and the "star" sang them. The Beatles changed all of that. Let's not forget that The Beatles not only changed our ideas of music, but they also changed our culture.

  • "Before Elvis there was nothing" Without Elvis there wouldnt be Beatles, Elvis did the dirty job. Couple of years ago somewhere in europe some newspaper asked people "do you know beatles" i remember 96% of those people knows who were beatles, then they asked "do you know who is elvis" 98% of them knows who is.

  • Elvis stole EVERYTHING from the blacks: Robert Johnson, Chuck Berry, Little Richards, Bo Diddley.

all he did was put a country element to what those pioneers were already doing.

the King of rock is not Elvis, but Chuck Berry.

  • Stone Roses then the Beatles; Elvis was just a fat yank. Oasis don't come nowhere near the Roses either. No chance

  • your very Ignorant towards Music... no Band is gonna beat The Beatles. stone roses are amazin to tho

  • than*

  • Didn't realise I put then!!!

    Nice correcting. . .

  • elvis was great he had the looks, moves and voic.but he didnt write his own songs.sinatra is a legend too,but like elvis;hes wasnt the hole package

  • Thanx bro! Luv this band forever!!
