i would just like to point out that Autzen Stadium is the loudest college football stadium in the nation. I was talking to someone in admissions, who knows the quarterback from Tennessee. The QB said Autzen was way louder than the Tennessee stadium, which is over twice the size of Autzen. The decibel rating was at about 130, which is past the point when pain in the eardrums begins. At that level, it gets dangerous to be exposed without ear protection after less than two minutes.

Actually if you do your research the there is a tie between two schools for the loudest in recorded history. ESPN did a special on it last month. LSU vs. Bama two seasons ago (134) and I know you don't want to hear about another PAC-10 school but the loudest recorded on the west coast is '92 Nebraska vs. UW, '01 Miami vs. UW, '02 UM vs. UW, all reached between 134 and 136. Autzen stadium is very loud and has the best sight lines in the country, but it is not the loudest.
