  • So beautiful. This song will never die.

  • I want this video on my Penphone.

  • this song is only beautiful! I like her!

  • so fucking beautiful, jeff i love you shit out of you

  • 2 dislikes ?

And those people are still free ?

  • This video is a favorite on South Carolina

  • @georgepotter428 Really?

  • Asleep in the sand with the ocean washing over...

  • This song is all jeff

  • @SwingStu LOL

  • This song was the best choice to be the last song on the album. Originally, this was supposed to be an instrumental that probably wouldn't have been chosen to be on the album. That's how talented and creative Jeff was lyrically. This was also the first song that the band ever wrote together. I also love how this was usually the first song that they played live. When the powerful instrumental kicks in after the chorus, it makes it an awesome opener that got the crowd going early.

  • @ericlord821 Columbia Records added Forget her as the last one after Jeff died. Jeff never wanted Forger Her on Grace.

  • the most beautiful song ever....the best voice ever...

  • @oxfordamerican81 This and Lover, You Should've Come Over are his best lyrically

  • love buckley

  • he may be gone, but he is always there when i need him most

  • 1:17 Never before has a man eating a banana looked so existential.

  • Chorus is so good.

  • NO Dislikes!

  • his voice is still hanging around me, like the vibration of a guitar string..... 14 years after his death....

  • Tesseract did a great cover of this song! :)

  • @andigadermaier who is tesseract? i would like to see or listen to the cover!!!

  • @Cristopher10986 TesseracT is a really awesome (and my favourite) progressive metal band from UK.

    i can't post the link here, i'll send you a message :)

  • @UshinawaLives Welcome :)

  • @UshinawaLives It's too bad he's gone now. Maybe the fact that it's so tragic makes the music just...that...much...better......and haunting...

  • @CybershamanX Especially when you take into account the last line of the song...

  • Got sent here by TesseracT.

    Great song!!

  • @yiggysaw same here man:))))

  • I'm glad people are talking about the drums on this song. Drums are a completely underrated instrument for creating mood and feel. Check out anything by the Smashing Pumpkins for supreme mood-inducing drumming. (I'm not a drummer - lead guitarist ;-) ).

  • @ScienceWars I consider it my god given duty as both a rhythm and lead guitarist to undermine the drums and all percussion instruments.

  • Jeff Buckley is amazing

  • what a sweet hallucination this song is

  • when he sing, "with her head in her hands" he sounds a little like Robert Plant.

  • is it just me or is this quite wonderful?

  • I've been playing drums a long time now, and Matt Johnson's work in Dream Brother still remains one of my very top musical inspirations. His work in this song demonstrates what being the drummer is all about.

  • @engeladam409

I completely agree! Lovely drums & one of my favourite Jeff Buckley songs too. Great dynamics, nice technique, great feel! To me, this song is also one of the best demonstrations of what one can achieve without having to resort to 7 toms and two dozen cymbals. I think people often associate small drum kits with Jazz, but it ain't necessarily so! ;-)

  • @TheSonofSniglet

Very true. I play a lot of jazz as well as some rock and a lot of funk, and before I played jazz I used to think 8 or 9 cymbals was totally necessary with extra toms and a double kick. Jazz showed me that it's far more impressive if you can dominate a simple 4 piece with a single ride and crash. Once you master that, then you can move onto auxiliary equipment if you wish. Here's a classic example.

"Check out, Jack DeJohnette - drum solo - Modern Drummer Festival 1997"

    Cheers.

  • amazing.

  • This intro always makes me shiver.

  • @Apothefox you mean this song lol

  • @rockntroopen

    right you are.

  • This is good music to listen to while waiting for sleep medication to kick in.

  • sorry dream letter not death letter

  • listen to the song called "Death Letter" By his father " Tim Buckley" very similar feel.

  • i love !

  • So sixties!

  • @colleenrfourie Precisely the reason Jeff Buckley appeals to me. When I first listened to this, I thought it was from the seventies. Shocked to find it was done in the nineties.

  • Check out the playlist I have in my profile of the full Grace album by Jeff Buckley. Plenty more FullAlbumPlaylists in my profile!

  • "The dark angel he is shuffling in."

"Don't be like the one who left behind his name."

"Asleep in the sand with the ocean washing over."

  • GREAT!!!!

  • I hate the fact he's gone...

  • @nadia79mj youre a peffffpoof

  • @BombusMan sorry, don't know what that means. English is not my native language.

  • @nadia79mj whatever he said isnt english lol

  • I LOVE IT! I LOVE IT! I LOVE IT!

  • i'm a drummer... i love this song so much. His voice and the drum part is awesome.

  • @KnightOfAmarCostume

Not being a drummer, I never noticed this but now you mention it: yeah it has a damn good drum part.

The whole song, no the whole album, is a piece of art

  • i love this song...
