  • whats the name of the song they play at 0:53ish?

  • love this scene!!!!!!!!

  • at 0:25 merlin ( to me ) kinda looks like 'oh no ... wat has i done ? im a monster and i love her ...

    IM MERGANA FAN

  • I was like, "Kiss her! Kiss her!" and then, (gasp!) "I get a ceremony too??!" lol better than my birthday! ps. I STILL want someone to find that blasted bracelet!!

  • It going to be pretty hard to get that true's back eventhough he forgive her. I Can't wait for the next season. i wonder what going to happen to them

  • I'm not sure you all understand the gravity Arthur's feelings. He loves her, but she also betrayed him. How would you feel about someone who was found kissing someone else the night before you got married? He was mean but i think that he had the right to be a little upset. She is lucky that he was ever willing to even speak to her again. I like Gwen, and i know that she only did what she did because she was under a spell. But that doesn't mean that Arthur would have just forgotten what she did.

  • Ick. HATE that Gwen just forgave him and let him back into her heart. Seriously? I can't forgive him for being so mean to her.

  • It's so hard to swallow Arthur telling Gwen he hates her and he doesn't want anything to do with her and the next minute he's telling her he can't afford to lose her! Atrocious writing skills! Why doesn't Gwen has any pride and dignity and just leave Arthur for good? Hope when the truth is known about her innocence, the tables are turned and Gwen will be the one rejecting Arthur and she won't be happy until she spits on his grave!

  • Gwen married Prince Blondie too fast! She should have just left Camelot of her own without a word to anyone! This damned prat will never trust her again! Don't believe for a second Blondie will NOT torment Gwen repeatedly about her "betrayal" even after she marries him! No woman ought to marry any man who had so little faith in love and thought the worst of the woman he claims to adore! Can hardly wait for Gwen to be vindicated and Arthur groveling on his knees begging for forgiveness.

  • It is really bad that Isolde had to die. What a beautiful and charismatic actress and charakter !! I will miss her ! Why did they decide to have her in the show just for one episode ??? Or is it for the reason that - maybe - the actress didn't want to participate in more episodes ?

  • Seriously Arthur. Someone had to die before you decided to make up with Gwen.

  • @Slimeya

This monster is so much like Uther! Uther must have hurt Igraine too in his youthful days? Like father like son! Gwen would have been better off falling in love with a man who truly loves her not this immature, spoiled, selfish, prat of a worthless King! Why does innocent blood had to be spilled before King Blondie realizes to treasure his beloved Gwen? Arthur-murderer!

  • @doctorsam000 ikr!

  • @doctorsam000 Remember in previous episodes Arthur did tell Merlin that he had forgiven Gwen and that he still loved her. This is quite amazing if you think of the culture of the time and how heinous a crime it was to commit adultery, all the more heinous if you're the future king's prospective, bride. Arthur showed Gwen a whole ton of mercy which proved to her that he still loved her and showed him to still be a very gracious person. I don't think it's fair to call him immature or selfish...

  • @BenevolentVapor Same. It's just true love taking it's course. Arthur's enlightened ideals are what makes him a great king-- his mercy and true capacity for love and compassion.

  • @BenevolentVapor Is it not true though that as no wedding ceremony had actually taken place that, technically, no actual adultery was committed? I'm not saying that what she did wasn't wrong but technically is that not true?

  • @need2bloved32 I think it would have been considered adultery because she was his betrothed. In Middle Ages, that was almost as good as being married, especially for a king. He would be expected to marry someone virtuous. If the wife slept with someone else before the wedding, It could potentially blur the bloodlines and cast doubt the succession. If a baby was conceived right before the wedding, there would be no way to prove that it was not the king's.

  • @birdandbaby2008 Arthur only caught Gwen and Lancelot kissing, but the insinuation for something more would have automatically been there.

  • @doctorsam000 That is a very harsh way to look at it. Arthur was hurt, because he caught his soon-to-be wife and queen cheating on him. When trust is broken like that, it's hard to repair. Even though it wasn't Gwen's fault, Arthur still loved her enough to let her go. What Uther did to Igraine was selfish, but Arthur didn't do anything like that. He couldn't trust a woman that "lied" to him (Arhur's POV).

  • Gwen actually would have been better off without Arthur since he isn't exactly human! He was born of magic! Nothing more than a science experiment; in other words, he is a Frankenstein! Were magic not around, he wouldn't have existed-contrary to laws of procreation! Were Igraine fertile, Arthur may or may not be exist!

  • I definately think someone (Gwen if not Arthur, or maybe Gwaine) should figure out Merlin's secret

I mean she's seen enough, how oblivious can you get

  • gwen needs to be proven innocent!!!

  • @wildcatste

She must be proven innocent by next season! It seems as if the writers are heading towards the path of ARWEN disintegration as they keep Gwen's innocence on hold! Had she been portrayed by a white actress she wouldn't have been a servant, would have excellent chemistry with Arthur, given a major role with many Gwen-centric scenes, and possibly be equal to Morgana's sword-fighting skills. BBC is so "hideously white" casting only white actors as perfect!

  • @doctorsam000 I like that Gwen was a servant- it explains why she and Lancelot were so attracted to each other at first (I mean, beside the fact it's SANTI!). Both she and Lancelot are (and always were) down to earth, noble people while Arthur was busy being a snob (in season 1). I also think Angel and Brad have chemistry a plenty :) But you bring up a VERY good point, there would be a lot more Gwen- centric storylines if she were a white actress. Sadly BBC is still much more diverse than US tv.

  • Me and Gwen started crying the same moment... :'-) And bringing back the scene from Morgana's nightmare: Perfect! Just simply, utterly, perfectly perfect! (Still, I wonder...Gwen's hair has grown quite a bit since they first featured this in season 3...what kind of hairstyle will they use to conceal this? (sorry, hair freak... XD))

  • @fullmetalmaxdog so he would rather watch someone die. ... I think they should have made something to reveal his secret and Arthur's change in feelings towards Gwen and wedding could be done next season. To me finale was bit rushed.

  • @zipzap570

Absolutely agreed! The final or next to final episode of series 5 would have been perfect for the ARWEN wedding! Gwen's innocence needs to be proven, Gwen needs more of her own story lines away from Camelot to show why she was destined to be Queen of all of Albion, and Merlin's magic has yet to be revealed. Gwen should never marry a man who distrusts her and if she felt she was guilty why stay in Camelot? She shouldn't have stayed in Camelot at all!

  • So...that's it. That's the battle? And no one found out Merlin's secret? Merlin does magic almost literally in front of Gwen's eyes, and she can't recognize the fact that Morgana was thrown back by magic and Merlin was the only other person around? Hm.

  • Merlin is so possessive about hiding his secret than saving someones life. Its so annoying! He could have saved Isolde but he didn't.

  • @zipzap570

She was already dying when Merlin/Gwen got there & it was too late to heal her. If Merlin had been there right when she got hit, he could have saved her. Plus Gaius says even magic can't stop death/its not natural.

  • @zipzap570 i know, i was wishing and hoping he would save isolde but he didnt, i was crying

  • Angel Coulby is one brilliant actress. Loved how Gwen caught her breath as she noticed Arthur staring at her like that. The chemistry with these two is absolutely brilliant and they get better as the show evolves. I have seen lots of re telling of this legend and this one is unique! No wonder the ratings have shot up. Loving the Arthur /Gwen story line, even though we don't get much, which I understand coz it's about Merlin afterall, so I am grateful for what little we get of it.

  • Dammit! I was kind of hoping Isolde would have been made a Lady Knight. She was cool.

  • I really didn't expect Isolde to die, when I first heard they were bringing the characters Tristan and Isolde on the show I assumed they would be here for the next season. But I do think there was a reason Tristan looks so much like Arthur and kinda acted like how he used to (a bully). They wanted it to be more transferable for Arthur for him to put himself in Tristan's shoes while he was holding his dying love. They wanted Arthur to feel what Tristan feels in that moment.

  • @DCfan6767

Gwen could have been close and great friends with Isolde had she lived! Why don't the writers give Gwen any true friends? Guy friends aren't the same as girl friends! Girls can share so much more.. Morgana has completely lost it! Gwen deserves genuine friendship!

  • am I the only one who hates the way Tristan was completely cut off from the episode I man after all he did (and lost) he at least deserves a thank you from Arthur but no he just disappeared

  • Why did they kill Isolde? She was so cool and pretty.

  • @Birnbacherin I think her death was used in a way to show Arthur he might lose Gwen so he decided to forgive her regardless of what happened, well that's my interpretation and I hate that they cut off Tristan completely

  • @Birnbacherin

I know!!! I was practically screaming in that scene "NO!!!" I wanted a girl fighter among the knights/Gwen to have a new friend too!!!

  • @TheStarSorceress

Personally I would have prefer Isolde to be alive too as Gwen has no girl friends and would have loved for Isolde and Gwen to both learn how to fight better as female warriors! Would love for Gwen to have more girl friends other than Isolde as well! She's surrounded by men! No wonder she was banished without mercy! Typical! Men's world: women are guilty until proven innocent!

  • Finally, Arthur stopped wearing his arse as a hat.

  • Sorry Morgana, not this time. :)

  • Arthur and Gwen just stared at each other for 16 whole seconds. And Bradley looks like a puppy ;)

  • Now I know why they killed off Lancelot. So Arwen could have a happy ending.

  • @inubaka13

Hope he stays gone for good this time! Then again, BBC writers are racist! Why would they want ARWEN to be endgame unless a white actress plays the role of Gwen? Don't trust the writers at all! What if they decided to bring back Lancelot or have Arthur be interested in other women or bash Gwen again? Gwen character needs more development and more screen time! Unfair for black actors to be given major roles but ended up only as background prop!
