Install an Indicator in MetaTrader 4 (MT4)

Hi Fonzi,

Try downloading the indicator's source code and creating the actual indicator. I tried posting a link here, but YouTube won't let me. Go to OSR's home page, click forum, Basics of MT4, then How to install an indicator. Read the most recent post.

iam having some problems on my computer.

basically my friend sent me a link to download the supertrend indicator. it is in the form of an attached mq4 file .

when i click on it, it gives me the option to either save it or open it. i click save. however when i later try to open it, i get a message saying 'unknown file'. and it does not open.

apparently my computer needs to have the right program to open the file. so what program do i need ?

the file is actually an indicator iam trying to download from forexfactory.

protocol: hypertext transfer protocol

type: php file

attachment.php ?

this is just one of many that iam unable to download.

@fonzi0was0cool You already have the files you need if you've installed MT4. You don't need to open the file at all. Just place it in MT4DIR\experts\indicators. Close and re-open MT4 and you're good to go.
