The melody is there, but he makes the song less beat-driven and more guitar-driven. "She Works Hard for the Money" was a demonstration of just what Kris can do with a hit song. He made it sound like a completely different song and in my opinion, made it more contemporary and current. "Heartless" was his crowning glory, though

He doesn't try to to the powerhouse vocals because that is not 'him'. Instead, he just does 'Kris'. I think Kris is a very gifted artist/musician. And yes, I think Adam is extremely talented too, but for me...Kris is the real deal and It's his honesty, humility, and genuine talent that grabs my attention.

Ring of Fire, done by someone else, Feeling Good, done by someone else, Mad World, done by someone else. All of these versions were done by someone else, and they are the ones he gets credit for changing, but he took arrangements not everyone heard before and was smart in that way. He was not that creative. I will only give him that he has good stage presence and good vocal range. I'm sure I will remember more songs whose arrangements he copied.

I think Kris is a wonderful person, but as an artist AND performer he does absolutely nothing for me-just my opinion.
