  • THAT WAS AWSOME

  • I know some may think its simple but that drummers timing is amazing!!!!

  • yall holdin it down and home girl on da drums is workin it God bless you!

  • This is a bit off topic but still relevant...when playing the organ, do you use regular progressions you would use on a piano when playing preacher chords? Like 6-2-5-1 and 7-3-6 and so on?

  • Ive watched this vid like at least going on 100 times and it always jam.. God Bless you

  • @rsmithjr42 Thanks man!

  • @gospelkeys07 I really like that last statement you said. In this field you do want every advantage you can get. So if a music degree would set you apart for you to play with that person or whatever, then yea I agree. I'm personally a computer science major, but once I get this degree, I'm definitelly gonna study music!

  • @gospelkeys07 I see what you are saying. The only thing that I don't agree is that you have to pay thousands of dollars to get a music degree that does not has a real value because it is hard to find a stable job and then you still have to pay back the loans. Also there many talented musicians out there that have the jobs someone with a degree would want. I'm not trying to discourage anyone who is trying to choose it as a major, but if money is a main concern, I don't think it would be good.

  • the drum is raelly not that good im can do better.not to be rude.

  • WOW!! where did your mind set of the cords come from?? This blew my mind away!! My God!! This is awesome!!

  • who is the drummer?lord she still got me patting my feet.lol

  • I have a question for all of you, do any of you guys play for a band or have played for someone famous? and if yes, do you have a music degree? I ask because I don't know if a music degree matters when trying to become someone known in the gospel industry

  • @temetito922 None of us have music degrees or read music or know theory. All play by ear.

  • @GospelMusicians it's not about being famous is it? it's about being faithful. Once we present our gifts to God for him to use as tools in His hands it wouldn't matter if we become famous or not.

  • @GospelMusicians That's cool. But where'd you learn about the circle of fifths, relative minors, and tritone substitution? You know theory, your just self-taught, am I right?

  • @GospelMusicians soz, circle of 5ths, relative minor is music theory.don't believe you....great playing!!

  • @GospelMusicians You know theory, you perhaps don't know history or may not be a beast but talking about F#9b5 and relating everything, being able to teach without a minimum of theory. You're kidding me. You've probably learned many things on your own. But without a degree? I'm fine with that. Good job by the way, God bless.

  • i need to buy d second cd of this song lol this is to nice all i play is jazz -_- lol

  • Thank you Jamal and everyone at Gospel Musicians for posting these videos. I can't necessarily afford your DVD's put I'm very passionate about gospel music and watching you guys has really inspired me to be a better pianist, drummer, saxophonist, guitarist and vocalist than before. • do you guts distribut to the uk

  • When Byron said " What in the World?" that was the same thing i was thinking!!! Jamal you are really gifted and highly favored stay in God's presence man!!!!!!! He has blessed you!!!!

  • wow! God Bless Gospel Musician!!! do you have any distributor here in the Philippines?

  • @oxoify Please send me your E-mail address so we can discuss distribution further.

  • This is the first time i heard a worship/jazz/soul approach to shouts.... creative. Tell Byron he should have switched to "Sine DWGS Organ" on the triton for that neo vibe... i would have been on the floor. Be encouraged

  • What in the heck is "the jazz scale"? lol...

  • Bruh that drummer is KILLEN IT!

  • its a girl too....

  • @iam14me She's coming out with a DVD!

  • @GospelMusicians WHATS HER NAME????

  • If Im playing a in the key of G major... what type of chords or scales can I use besides G major

  • You can play ANY scale when in G Maj, given the right circumstances... Its not the key that matters most. Its the chord, chord quality, & and chord resolution that matter as to what scale you play - In Western music that is.... It may be common place in other musical cultures to play a half step off of the tonic for all I know.. On a side note : Tuvan Throat Singing makes me want to barf...

  • That grace note at 2:21 sounded super sexy.

  • that drummer did the sweet move lol she made yall look LMBO!!!I like that i do the same thing,im tryiing to play keys too thanks for those tips

  • Jhenece "LaToya" Hester - She plays for Musiq Soulchild!

  • Yes thats what im talkin about!

    .

  • the organ was killin from 2:12 to 2:18

  • Never give the Devil Any Praise. Let's be careful, lest we lose the gift that GOD gave. However, it sounds good. All praises to the Lord.

  • i would LOVE how to play this kind of stuff.... what's the key?

    btw awesome drummer! hehe

  • Holy Cow! That's Sammy Corea on bass. I haven't seen that boy in years!!!!!!!

  • Isn't the Tritone known as the Devil's Chord? And it's used in Gospel Music?

  • There is no such thing as the "Devil's Chord" God created music, not the devil. Back in the mideival times it was considered an evil chord, because it was atonal, but in jazz and gospel it is funky...

  • Oh. Disregard that, then.

  • remember God is the author of music...the devil used to play it in heaven but dat doesnt mean he has all authority over it...so if the tritone is giving praise to God then it cant be of the devil

  • that stuff is amazing man

  • I finally found what I was asking earlier. Search for Joe Pass "Joe's Blues", a 1968 song.

As the original is quite different from this one so it's likely what we hear here was inspired by some more modern version of that.

  • Wow very good ear to be able to hear that. I had to look up the song to hear and you are right...!

  • a-flat is my favorite key to play in!!!!!

  • 1:27 is great

  • this is some gd stuff jamal. your years of practice paid off.

  • that gurl on them drums remind of ma cousin in chicago how she whip them drums like dat she is now singing with the brown sister in chicago!!!!!!!!! but 4real doe i like that !!!!

  • Inspiration in its purest form! cant stop wathcin this vid

  • i like this from 1:20 till the end!

    this is nice!

  • anyone know where the jazzy progression was inspire from? I have heard a variation of same in couple other videos as well but I can tell they're not the original source.

You can hear this same prog here: rRBCcvYIr34 and that video was posted year before this one.

  • check out hiromi uehara - not gospel or religious but she devotes herself completely to jazz piano. This sounds like it could possibly be in one of the sections of her songs. really worth buying the cd's as the good songs keep gettin removed from youtube. ( might give you something new to play around with :P )

nice drummer and basist - they look simple but sound awesome,

  • Oh yea and I am a musician I play the SET and I dont hate on other Musician cause to me that is so disrespectful to that musician who is playin 4 GOD. But that lil lick his is playing there I just remember from back in the days hearing that when I first started playin the drums. And I just think it crazy how he can bring a old lick back out and make it new and sound also Well and Great.!!!!!!!

  • So please know when someone is hating and when someone is just saying that Gospel muzik has always the same just changing the game to a new style like he is doing today and thats 4REAL NIGGA!!!!!!!!!!!
