It makes me sad when students of artistic and athletic disciplines waste time trying to belittle others. Can't we all agree that watching a wonderful ballet performance and a wonderful gymnastic performance is pretty freaking awe-inspiring?

@BalletGirl312 you may work hard but what these gymnasts do is so much more than just dance. they are atheletes. they work on choreography much like a ballerina but they also work so much more on agility, balance and stamina. i don't see many ballets where they are doing flips, summersalts, back hand springs and cartwheels all being done at the same time. i don't see a ballet person doing all this on a 4 inch wide beam either! think before you speak and prove that a ballerina works harder.

I have had times in my life with no toenails, more blisters than I can count, and bleeding so much that I had to go to the hospital because of blood loss. I got leg sergary and I was suppossed to be on cruches for 7 months, but the next day, I went to face and stood through a 5 hour class. We work so much harder than gymnists. All gymnists care about is if they win or not. ballerina's actually want to do something in life.

@cartunedbz We want to entertain and give beauty in the word. So many kids start off doing ballet and gymnastics when they are little, and most kids stick with gymnastics, which only makes ballerina's so much more special. We do so much and work so hard to be the best we can be. ballet gives a beautiful connection between the man and women, to make the audience still as stone. I may be the only one writing this comment, but I stand up for each and every dancer in the word.
