i used to hate this episode so much when i was young , because i felt that zhan zhao was tortured, but it then became my favourite episode as i grew older. its indeed very touching. kenny is the best zhan zhao by far, the others arent bad, but kenny is the best

it's because bao zheng caught him and zhan long zhao hu of protecting suspects instead of bringing the suspects as they instructed by bao zheng. don't worry, they won't get beheaded, the emperor saved them much to bao zheng's relief. bao zheng never wanted to sentenced them but since he caught them himself, he had no choice, hence, his nickname: bao qing tian.

If I remember correctly, the Emperor's uncle, Ba Xian Wang pleaded to the Emperor to pardon them due to the reason(s) why the three of them protected the suspects. Yet again, I might be wrong, it's been close to 2 decades since I first watch this episode. I couldn't find the DVD anywhere.
