Are people who want Fair Tax bad at math? A 30% Sales Tax on top of a state tax is not some great idea. Fair Taxers are so naive. The Fair Tax needs to accompany a balanced budget amendment and term limits.

The fair tax is the most reasonable approach to bringing in the same amount of revenue but FAIRLY and more importantly with greatly reduced corruption.

Im not a fan at all of the FairTax as it is proposed by some Republicans and Neal Boortz...but, I cant recall hearing Snitker ever saying that he supported this proposal or supporting a 30% tax...please enlighten me if he has.

The FairTax will eliminate some $250 billion in wasted overhead costs. Illegals and criminals will finally contribute to the federal government. Yet the poverty level poor will completely be untaxed due to the prebate. The only loosers with the FairTax are politicians and the lobbyists who influence them. Let's make it happen.

The Fair Tax necessarily repeals the 16th amendment. No repeal, no Fair Tax. No one said it would be easy.

Prices will not rise with the FairTax. When the income tax is removed, prices will drop due to competition. This has always happened in the past.  Ask any economics student. Profits stay steady at 5 to 8 percent. That's the beauty of capitalism. The poor will pay no taxes, due to the prebate. MORE people will be paying taxes because illegals and criminals will be contributing the the tax collection. Think about it. 250 billion dollars will be eliminated from the collection overhead.

It is false to say the FairTax would abolish the IRS and the 16th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

It would take three quarters of the states to ratify a repeal. Unlikely considering we can't get the Equal Rights Amendment (liberal) or Flag Burning Amendment (conservative) passed so chances are it won't be repealed.

Maybe the first stage is to ADD the VAT, and THEN delete the income tax, and then simplify the VAT into the FairTax. Another way might be to change to the Flat Tax, and a decade later switch it over to flat on consumption instead of income. We'll see.

The proof is in the video. Alex Snitker promoting a "consumption tax" aka the FairTax. If you want more proof go to Alex Snitker's website. Also the Libertarian Party website--they do NOT promote the FairTax at all. You must haved failed math if you don't get that a 30% consumption tax is MORE tax on top of state taxes and EVERYDAY of the year on EVERY purchase. But there would still be an income tax also. The 16th Amendment would need to be repealed. That is next to impossible to do.

He also favors the enumerated powers act, ending the Federal Reserve, and a non-interventionist foreign policy. Sounds just like the GOP, eh?
