@Kombatkittie No, nothing but his medicine helps with his eczema. I only mentioned that I added in his bath wash so that he could take a bubble bath w/o having all the chemicals touching his body.
For your nephew who has eczema try getting him CeraVe moisturizing cream. I have eczema and that cream has helped me so much. I love it! I got mine at Rite Aid but if you get it try the get the one in the white tub and not in the tube. The stuff in the tub is thicker and I think works better! Hope it helps!
Sorry to hear about your nephews problem. This WILL help if you pass him the like. That is if he is old enough to play with the tools to make the product
Not sure what I did wrong. I used all raspberry zinger tea bags and it didn't turn pink it turned green so I added red food color which I prefer not to. Next time I think I will just use Dr. Bronners rose castile soap and leave it white.
@b991228 I tried this recipe and used Dr. Bonners castile soap I didn't get the pink color but it came out very sticky for some reason I don't know what I did wrong. Did you try it? What happened? Thanks
I just made it today but with different teas: rasperry-pome granate, kiwi-grapefruit and a mix from spices and roses.... as soap I just use some biorganic (watermelon-grapefruit) soap that I had at home and that was delicious! tomorrow mornig I'll see the ends result!!! thanks again and sorry for my not so good english!
@CookingAndCrafting i know it is just that i don't have all that stuff at home and rather than buying all of that it is just cheaper to buy already made soap but im thinking of trying it.(seems like fun)
thanks for this video it looks good, i live in ohio and bath salts were banded from ohio because people were getting high off them and dying, which sux for the rest of us but i will defiantly give this a try
naww cant beleive he has eczema, i got eczema when i was 3 and it sucks :/ im now 14 and i hate it especially at this age when people start wearing perfumes and i cant :/ god bless him and hope he doesn't have to much trouble with it
@CheAshBri But it was all good and that was all that mattered. It's supposed to be salts, which really, if you think about it, is just bigger pieces (much bigger) of sand. It's not a foaming bath salt, which is probably what the soda would do to it. lol
great gift idea but I was wondering what it would be like to have tea grains in your tub or on your skin? I'm sure it won't hurt anything but might be messy when drying. LOL
@Jenicuuh I hope you do. I still have some of this left in the bathroom and the rose petals are still as beautiful and lovely as the day I brought them in from the garden
@musswoom1234 I need to preface this answer with the fact that my grandnephew only comes over and baths once a week, so it is not used with any real consistency. That being said, he did not break out or have a recurrence and it didn't agitate his skin. I used Suave Kids free and gentle body wash, which I purchased at Walmart. That's the body soap i also use to bathe him.
Epsom salts were a common remedy for aches and pains when I was a kid. A good soaking worked wonders for anything from a stubbed toe on a 5 year old to Grandma's arthritic back. It's fallen somewhat into obscurity, (probably because the pharm industry doesn't want us using things that are harmless, organic, and work), but it's still just as much a wonder worker as ever.
@imperceptibleme I did a little reading up on this and since it can sometimes cause drying of the skin, they recommend not using it more than once a week. Once a week should be fine
@spygirl43 I haven't had a chance to try it yet. However, I usually scrub my tub down after I have taken a bath. If you do that, there shouldn't be any problems with staining. My tea cups only got stained after multiple uses and a very good scrubbing removed the stains
@ArgentineShamrock I don't know if it will soothe it. I do know that he likes bubble baths and my Lush products but that my niece said to only use "free and clear" products on him. Since this only has some natural tea and oil added, I am hoping it will not affect his skin
@MACwishin2 He just got the eczema in the last few months, the poor little guy. So it has been nice to find these recipes, this one and the bubble bath slices that can use the softer on the skin bath wash to make them. Still trying to find reasonably priced SLSA. My God, one place wants $7 for a pound and $11 for shipping. Seriously? lol
I think I will have a go at these for my daughter and daughter in law. They could even use them for my grandson, he has problems with his skin he is part Filipino and unfortunately their skin doesnt cope too well with our harsh UK weather. They use Aquaphor and oilatum on his skin.
@CookingAndCrafting YES! I just had some on toast the other day and it was delicious. I'm gonna make a review vid either tonight or tomorrow. Thanks again Beth. :)
Sorry to hear about his eczema, my daughter has had it her whole life, had hoped she would outgrow it but it didn't happen. She's tried a wide range of things, prescription & over the counter & her best results come from the Aveeno products. The bar soap & the lotion that's specifically made for eczema work great. They also have a tube of Aveeno that is not specific to eczema, says something about poison ivy or something, but contains calamine & it works great at drying the bumps that ooze.
@meluv2cook I got eczema maybe 10 years ago and it went away after about 5 years. I will have to look into some of the Aveeno products but I'm guessing I can make some of that stuff as well :)
I use Epsom Salts a lot. I have leg pain a lot and it helps so much!! My Mom was also reading that the epsom salts can draw sickness out of your body.... Not sure if that's true but it wouldn't hurt to try!! :) I love this idea!! Using the tea is pretty cool! :)
@TheCountryCook Yep, epsom salts really are pretty awesome. I used to buy this really expensive dead sea bath salts years ago. I would savor it and only use little bits because of how awesome it used to make me feel. Of course cut to years later when I found out what epsom salt actually was. I was like "dead sea my ass!" hahaha And started added just plain salt to my baths and felt the same awesome results, only about $20 cheaper HAHAHA
This look beautiful. What a great gift and you know Bain is going to love being in that bath that smells so good.
As a side note I've heard that dream cream from lush is really good for skin with eczema. Also something else they have one of the bath melts I think, but I can't rememeber off the top of my head.
@Ultimatecruegirl Thanks, I will look that one up and get some for him. I also found a skin cream at Avena Botanicals--all natural stuff that is supposed to help with eczema.
@royalschwarz Yeah, baths take dedication hahaha I wish I had more TIME to take them. Sitting, waiting for it to fill, then the bath, then draining and cleaning it out..yeah. But definitely worth it.
Wow, it makes me wish I had a tub. It is really hard to find unscented bath soap- so I'll look for suave next time. I just had an idea to look for pretty jars at the goodwill rather than buying new ones for things like this - recycling and maybe more fun. But I'd wash and bleach them first. The jars you chose were really nice though. The rose petals look very pretty and really take it over the top for a gift. Christmas may find some of these in some stockings.... I'm just saying.
@WackaDoodleFreeZone Thanks Peggy :) This one will do wonders for your body...The epsom salts will help with your muscles. I got a big bag of epsom salt at Walmart today for just under $4. probably cheaper up your way
My Niece had a horrible bout with eczema over the years.... seems though it's left her never to return again though. Very nice of you to make this for your Bainers!
I love the "bath salts" idea...and fun with the roses! You're the bestest Auntie B!!
@macaronipop Thankfully his eczema isn't that bad. Just a slight rash that never really went away. Now he has a steroidal cream to help. At least he is no longer scratching all the time. Poor little guy
wonderful vid. sorry about bain having skin issues....lots of little ones now seem to have that. will try this one today.....minus roses :( unless i can find some at the market... i love a bubble bath...and now it will be my choice of fragrance...will make some for my daughter too. Thanks again, beth...for the vid and the ideas.
@trvlbuggy Yeah, the roses aren't necessary. They just make it look pretty and to have some petals floating would be nice :) I'm glad you've enjoyed these. I have to make one or two more, maybe three haha
@yoyomax12 Bain's eczema is kinda all over. On his chest, his back and his legs. Thankfully it is not red and/or blistery yet. But he'd been itching for quite some time and Ash finally took him in.
I LOVED the scent of this. I am going to do a few more of these using the other teas. They smell divine.
@wildheart5 It was super yummy smelling. I think tonight I am going to give this a try. Ash came too early for me to give him a bath so we hadn't yet tried it.
Ok, first...I am SO jealous. Roses in the middle of winter, lol!! 2nd..I am loving your bath stuffies videos. Even though I don't have a tub, this looks so beautiful packaged and would make a great gift. You're giving me so many ideas for next Christmas! :)

@jrt31169 I used to love to use cucumber fragrance oils for my soaping. SO refreshing and yummy :)
Bain loves bathing and lately has loved my Lush items, so when Ash told me he had eczema, I was kinda bummed until I found this recipe!
