To play internationally you have to be legally blind. That can mean you can be partialy blind or totally blind.
The goggles are to provide a level playing field so both partially and totally can play. The game can be played by sighted people at a local level depends upon what the local rules are?
out off all the videos to put a lame soundtrack onto... I specifically came to watch this video because the ball supposedly has bells inside. The audience has to be absolutely quite. So let's deafen youtube watchers with stupid music and not let them hear things as the players might...
Can see what you are saying but the point of this video was more promotional than to exhibit the game. There are other videos that highlight
how the game works but we use it to try and add some atmosphere for the uninitiated watcher and potential sponsor. As for the soundtrack yes you may think it lame but that is your opinion. I actually produced the video three times with different soundtracks but uploaded this one as it was more appealing to the target audience.
Really its just a matter of each to their own. Most of the people who watch or listen to it are the players themselves who are featured. so they have been more than happy with the result.
I really enjoyed seeing my former team mates from Australia play on this video. I hope Australian Goalball continues to get stronger with the programs that are currently being implemented for the future.
Actually at the international level the ball which is 3lbs in weight travels at around 65 miles per hour and from the time of release only has around half of 1 second until it hits the defense.
I kept waiting for a "secret track" after 5:30... nothing

This sports is for blind people, or visually impaired ppl... it's amazing how they predict where the ball is just by hearing
