@ajohnson1111 The younger generation will and can make a difference if they keep their heads out of their asses. This country (USA) is going down hill and fast; it's up to the younger generation to step up and make a difference. But, first the government must fall before the younger generation can come in and make this place better.
Is this song mocking political bands? Because when he says we are being oppressed by the middle-class seems ironic, they never struck me as poor and they make great cash now.
This song was written 30 years ago, it's on their first EP.they were 15-16 years old kids. it says "upper middle class", anyway, i agree that such things may sound ironic to hear nowadays, but it's just that time goes on and people grow up and change. it's human and happens for everyone, as sad as it may seem. BR have over 200 songs, created at different times in the last 30 years. it's normal if there's a song that contradicts another one, etc.. that's what i think :)
yeah I know it was in the 80's but still I read that one of the band members father loaned 1000 bucks for production purposes on the how could hell be any worse. I just don't like it when people act poor for punk purposes that's me tho. This album is great tho I got it the other day, the re-issue.
i really think the USA is turning around for the better now, and you know bands like Bad Religion, NofX are partly to thank, as they are getting to the kids old enough to vote, and educating them to what is really going, so the next time someone says punk is just mindless noise you can tell them whats what
I have to disagree with you on USA turning around. Bank of America received a $45 million bailout, only to turn around to purchase Merrill Lynch for $5 million more than the bailout received. That's fucked up and theft!!!! I do agree that NoFx and B.R. (and the like) are really making a difference in the younger generation. NoFx is my favorite band and they know what they are talking about. The government sucks and I agree with NoFx's song "Murder the Government"!
