Hi, so I've been looking into Full Sail University, and am becoming particularly interested in the motion capture course. So my question; Do the students get to put on the motion capture suits and do the motion capture themselves?
Let me just say thanks for all the videos. I'm seriously considering attending Full Sail next Fall for Entertainment Business. I'm taking a tour of the campus this weekend and I can't wait!
i was goin to go to this school but i decided RIT, and then go later for individual classes for GP...i would have money saved and experience in programmin. GA looks good to but im no artist...i am a programmer; cant wait
The game development program here is really good. It's all programming. I don't know if you can take individual classes though. It's a bachelors program.
Thanks for all the videos; it has kept me well informed about the school. Now considering that GA and CA take the same classes for the first 12 months, how high should your actual pen and paper art be for CA? I've been using maya 09 and can do pretty well in it, but i'm no Leonardo when it comes to blueprints.
Some will tell you the ability to draw doesn't matter... I disagree. Drawing allows you to show an idea or concept in a tangible way. You also need to import drawings and concepts into maya to model, so if you can't draw your own concepts and want to be a modeler. You'll just be a copy machine.
The class has changed since I've taken it. I understand it's all polygons now, it used to be NURBS, so there isn't much advise I could offer you besides get to know your UV's, and enjoy Tony's silly Hawaiian shirts.
Hey bro I had a question that student advisor can answer but screw appointmentss. Do you know if you can get a BA in GA and than go back and get a BA in CA starting at month 12...that way you only need 30 months to get 2 BA's?
In the earlier stages of modeling yes, for Game Art, not so much. It's bad modeling standards to have ngons. Marcus, Tim, and Judah will put your nuts on a chopping block if you have any in your scene. Especially CDC! Take that class seriously and model to perfection! That class took 9 of my classmates.
When you say that the way Game Art/Creation does things sloppy, are you insinuating that it's a bad thing or that it's common practice for making game geometry?
Definitely not a "bad" thing, it's common practice. Compared to how we've learned to model in the past it's way different. BUT, It's par for the course when dealing with Game Engines. You need to manipulate geometry accordingly to work within the limitations.
