  • 6:23 That`s nice goodie! What`ve you done with this Robotarm? XD XD XD

  • LoL I kept thinking "Autobots attack" at the time.

  • You didn't go blind yourself playing that Virtual Boy did you?

  • Nah the damn thing wouldn't work :(

  • Thanks for the credit mention :)

  • Great footage of the event, looks like a lot of fun :D Awesome stuff on show :)

Wish i'd heard about this earlier, i would have come along :) I'm only about 50 mins away from Huddersfield :)

  • Hi there, Ive heard your name all over YouTube within the Retro Community so I checked out some of your vids... I have subbed mate, very cool..

    The event looks great!

Why not check out a couple of my vids too and see if you would like to sub me back or not cheers ;o)

  • Done and done :) Thanks!

  • lol, great watching you trying to find the input for the Vitrual Boy cart! Man i would have loved to have tagged along for that.

  • And I still couldn't get it to work :(

  • its in the top of the controller isnt it?

  • Haha, that looks like chaos. :D The good kind of chaos, mind - lots of stuff to keep folk distracted. It's a wonder that so much old kit still works too... :)

  • Hey! Great vid as always. Good to see you at Retro Reunited. I've finally added a public video on Youtube. It details my RR pickups. It won't let me post a URL here, but if you click on my name here in the comment you should be able to see it. Cheers mate, see you at the next do!

  • Very cool event Lorfarius! Wish I was there... You won't find any event like that here in Msia... :~( Saw a couple of monochrome systems.. My 2nd PC was an 8088 PC with Hercules monitor.. that beast can only churn out 4 shades of green.. just like the Gameboy.. It was made by EPSON.. Sad it's now in heaven.. :~(

  • The closest I got to playing any of the older computer systems was the Amiga :(

  • Very cool!

I saw a Sinclair C5 parked in there. Thanks for the video :)

  • Earlier in the day you could sit in it and have your picture taken. I tried but the boot wouldn't fit :(

  • FANTASTIC!

  • Ah yes, I saw someone on crutches, think I told you that Szczepeniak was looking for you, didn't realise it was you :s

  • LoL I remember but I thought yo uwere someone else!

  • Yeah, happens a lot, ho ho!

  • I'm not religious, but clearly, there is a heaven :D

  • Ah i see, well done on getting around!

  • Im not 2headed boy, how come you are into retro games so young??

  • I think you are replying to the comments beneath the vid. When you click the comments list it should list everything the way its meant to be with all the replies in the right section :)

  • Why didnt you show some people from the show and forums? Also, you look about 18, how are you into retro games, weird?

  • LoL thanks I'm actually 29! I have a broken leg so was pretty limited at the doo, stumbling around in a cast on 2 crutches. A lot of footage I had to ask someone I knew to take as everytime I tried to move the camera was jumping all over the place.

  • Thanks for the video. I'm SO wishing that I went now :-(

  • Oof, didn't know you went bud! I'd've said "hi" otherwise (TwoHeadedBoy)

  • Someone asked me if I'd seen you at one point too!

  • what me?

I think I was the only person that had my own T-shirt on

Note to self - have hand outs that explains what a prinny is

  • LoL no 2headedboy

  • Great video, looked like a fantastic event.

Haha I like cheeky nod to the camera at 3:03 when you were trying to get the virtual boy working.

WOW great to see the BBC Domesday 1986 Project on laserdisc there...amazing :) Thanks for the video.

  • I almost missed the DBBC D project, hidden away in the corner. Great thing was you could use it fully.

  • What game and system are those at around 3:40 when the camera goes into "fullscreen" with the platformer?

  • Superfrog

  • Cracking game too!

  • wow i want to live there

  • Well it was in a hotel ;)

  • see then i can stay there : )

  • wow dude that was just fabulous :)

  • Seeing Guitar Hero and Smash Brothers at a retro place looked a bit stupid, those games are not retro in the slightest.

  • There's always the likes of Guitar Hero at a retro doo. Much better for them to be broken later on in the day when people have had a lot to drink and are being less carefree with the equipment.

  • Did you get the Virtual Boy to work? When I tried it some plonker had jammed a cartridge cover into the cartridge slot.

  • Ah thats why I couldn't get the game in! I just gave up within moments of the vid being taken.

  • Is it me or do you in person look like a fellow Aspie?

  • Was good to see you there (with the Robocop leg), a fun time had by all!

  • excellent footage brother, looks like a great event :) was that a C64GS I saw on the table at the beginning? I wasn't too sure lol :)

  • Probably LoL There was also this weird colour Commodore laptop on show. It was huge with a 5" screen, quite impressed with what it was playing.

  • cool, was it 8 or 16bit?

  • 8bit I think. Somewhere from the early to mid 80's its called the SX64 according to Google.

  • thats so cool :) did they have any otrher obscure systems?

  • Probably but most likely in computer form. The usual consoles were there but I finally managed to get my hands on a Sega Nomad to play. The screen is pretty poor and I'm glad it's put me off buying one in future.

  • I had a nomad a couple of years ago and thought it was ok,better screen than the game gear anyway lol

  • It's hard to go back from the joys of a PSP screen :(

  • lol true you have a good point there :)

  • Lol, I'm often squinting at a Neo Geo pocket screen after playing a crystal clear game of Metal Gear Portable Ops on my PSP - 10 years makes quite a difference! ^_^ My mum got a DS the other day, lucky old bird!

  • I think that my head just exploded out of envy! Man, that sure looks as good time. Over on this side of the ocean, we dont get stuff like that. Closest we have are those darn animéconvetions. I guess we had the retro videogame-exibit, but thats really not the same thing.

Anyway, looks like it was a ton of fun, thanks for filming it!

  • Up until a few years ago the UK was pretty barren for these as well. Since the Retro Gamer magazine started though a community seems to have come out of hiding and more people have started organising these doo's.

  • I think I know what magazine that is even! It popped up in the newsstands under the "foreign papers" section like a year or so again. Its bloody expensive, but it looks fantastic!

  • You should try tracking a few copies down on ebay. Fantastic read every month.

  • Hmm.. Thats a pretty good idea for UK readers as well! Prehaps a little cheaper and some great articles! I really want to see that beat 'em up special they had! They seem to have stopped selling it in the South West though - that sucks a rather large one :(

  • I'm a subscriber which knocks a fair chunk off the price in shops. Think you can also sign up for 6 months direct debit too.

  • So any new traders there that are work looking at ?

  • Afraid not. There were only 2 stalls (1 is in the vid) and the other tucked away in the corner but they were private sellers rather than businesses.

  • Great video mate. :) The event looks really good and really cool. :) I wish I could have gone to this event now.

  • was...was that a teradrive??!!!

  • Dunno what that is LoL

  • basically a PC with enabled Mega drive cartridge slot. im certain it was in that video

  • Oh that Amstrad thing. Yes it was there and I managed to have a go. I think you can hear the Sonic music playing on the vid from it just a shame you can't use those MD cards anymore would be great plugged into the PC.

  • Amstrad Mega-PC ^_^ I woldn't mind having one to be honest - I like the idea of these rare odball systems.. I was looking at a Dreamcast development uniut recently (essentially a Dreamcast-PC) - it was only about £30 more than a normal DC! Image being able to create your own games on that? I'd never be able to but would love to own that stuff regardless! ^_^ Hey ho, its always down to the money though eh?

  • it looks like a wonderful piece of kit! would love some developement grade consoles as well. was offered a Net Yaroze once. if i knew what it was and had the £50 i would have bought it in hindsight.

  • Ah, Its always the way.. Still, ebay is your friend - theres always something interesting on there (can be a bit pricey mind you!).

  • generally steer clear of the Bay myself, mainly due to the fact i have no Paypal account for myself. mainly use it for stuff like cables which i can't get in stores nowadays

  • that looks brilliant! wish i could have gone. hopefully there will be one next year

  • There's bound to be something :)

  • better be, need to make up for not going this year!

  • I would have loved to attend this, mate. It would have been great to meet up with you and Darran.

I did look into things and was considering grabbing a press pass and covering the event for TeamTeabag. That idea fell apart when I realised how much it would cost me to travel down there and find a place to stay.

I would love to attend next year, assuming it's an annual event, if I find myself in a better financial position at that time.

  • Quite a few people asked if you and Xfile were coming. Fame :)

  • Hahahaha lies!

Who would ask if I was going!?

    All lies! =oD

  • You have fans :p

  • cool so what days does this take place?

  • 12th and 13th September. Just a one off so far though.

  • wow, freaking awesome event - I would have loved to be there, too :-D

  • Looks pretty good. So is the Virtual Boy really as bad as I hear?

  • This one didn't work but I've owned in the past. If you don't suffer from headaches after 10 minutes or so use then it can be a pretty decent system to play with some fun games.

  • I couldn't get the cartridge in for ages. Then when it finally slotted in at the back the batteries had died!
