Drove from Singapore to Penang on June, 2002. Stayed four night at LonePine Hotel, (Batu Feringgi, Penang). Kids were lil' then... Now all grown up having their own friends and life.
Beautiful place, excellent location with walking distance to the beach, night market, food stalls (a stone throw away).
Next visit probably be just me and wife. Awesome SunSet, beautiful memories...
i had a meal there,on the beac it was great, my parents had there honeymoon there in 1953,it was one of the first hotels in B.F, have some old B&W photos, looks like paradise.
A bit oldish and could use some renovation these days. I agree though it has a special feeling. The slideshow although is very flattering and it might disappoint people who pick this hotel after viewing this video.
My fav.hotels in Penang are:
1) Eastern & Oriental [top]
2) Rasa Sayiang for resort hotel
3) Cheong Fatt Tze mansion for heritage.
4) Lone pine for oldish nostalgy and when on a budget.
Thank you so much for posting video. My wife and I are going to stay at the Lone Pine next month December 07. We booked our room over the internet, and your clip has really put my mind at ease with the choice of the accommodation. Thank you.
i am a local here, and i am seriously in love with this place, its the most laid back hotel and most beautiful over here as well,...with soothing tropical settings
Been to Lone Pine twice and love every moment of it... Drove up to the "other" side of the Island with plenty of local fruits and you gotta try Penang Hill, Nice...
