  • once again ....the power of the badge

  • When the idiot cop said tow the car I would have said take the thing, we are done, bye and if the idiot even went for his gun I would have taken his ass out! I'd handle the repercussions after I saw mom pass on! This moron cop even got paid time off? Fucking unions suck when their pussy assed workers screw up and then get paid time off! No wonder taxes are so high! Morons like this officer.

This is supposed to be a person with deductive reasoning skills and the idiot has to play this shit!

  • So did the in law die?

  • couple of guesses from "Harold and Kumar go to White Castle Part 6 "

officer powell is probably a big asshole in the high school, and used to pick on guys like ryan everyday. then graduation day came and guys like ryan went to college, and officer powell went no where. and he thought how could he still give them shit? "oh i know i become a cop"

congratufuckalation officer powell, your dream had come true.

  • couple of guesses from "Harold and Kumar go to White Castle Part 6 "

  • somebody need to buss this fool wit the pump to the face

  • 7:17 "We Don't Save" WTF!

  • @WWFKANERULES he said we don't chase....which is why after he says that they go on, for 2mins on not chasing traffic violators........turn up that volume on ur hearing aid

  • THIS IS WHY DALLAS COPS GET SO MUCH SHIT!!!! THEY WANT RESPECT?!?! BHAHAHAHA! AFTER SHIT LIKE THIS????? THAT IS EXACTLY WHY I HAVE NO REMORSE WHEN I HEAR ABOUT BAD THINGS THAT HAPPEN TO THESE COPS. I HAVE BEEN A VICTIM OF A SIMILAR CIRCUMSTANCE WITH DALLAS COPS. I WOULD NOT SPIT ON ONE OF THESE COUNTRY HICK COPS IF THEY WERE ON FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yeah get fired stupid p***-Stain cop, go to F***ing jail

  • I am so furious at the non sympathetic attitude of this sworn piece of s--t. If he's this stupid, this man should not be in uniform. I respect law enforcement, but officers with this attitude need to be removed from the force. My god, the man has expained that his mother in law is dying, why not accompany him into the hospital for verification. If he still wants to write the ticket, so be it. Common sense goes a long way, this is a tragedy.

  • @mwat935139 - couldnt of said it better myself...well put

  • Did Officer Robert Powell say something bad at the nurse?

  • If that was me, I wouldn't have accepted his half-assed apology. His arrogance reeks and his insensitivity is incredible.

  • The sad thing is their are at least twenty cops like this in every precinct, 20 is my opinion, their are alot and this will happen again

  • Thank goodness that this was the last night this dirtbag cop ever put on a police uniform and worked the streets. Go work at Jack in the Box you angry little piss ant.

  • sadly this scumbag is a cop in milford.......

  • @doodoobug12 HE GOT A JOB AT MILFORD PD?? IN ELLIS COUNTY???

  • ghettonerd ur an idiot

  • what pisses me off, that he is taking his sweet time, by preaching, and talking to others, he did seems to be phased one bit.

  • This Police Officer should be sued !! He is a egoistic cold hearted, Racist bastard!!! He is so inhumane - i wonder what would happen to someone in a lesser country than the US during an emergency to the Hospital.I hope some serious action should be taken against the police officer he shows no respect at all- and remeber u pig the people pay your salary !!!

  • the 1800s are over you know. All the "Niggers" have already passed away a long time ago.. get with this 21st century thing.

  • nine times out of ten this cop was a bitch ass punk who got his lunch money took!! I've been pulled over plenty times and it didnt take 17min to get a damn ticket!!!

  • You actually disgust me. It makes no sense how you could be so inhumane. Unless you know what you would do if your mother-in-law were dying in the hospital, you can just stop with the bullshit. Bureaucracy is not always appropriate. Sometimes, you need to care about people as people. The issue here is that you and your police officer buddy here fail to see that. And it's absolutely ridiculous to blame the driver because you and I both know this would have gone differently had they been white.

  • this cop is a racist pig. what he should have done from the start is walk the driver into the hospital to see if what he was saying is true and if he really wants to give him a ticket then so be it. but dont hold him up while a loved one is dying inside. damn cop saying "i can make your life miserable".. lol please, the dude makes millions.. a $5,000 ticket won't tickle his pocket

  • im...assuming your joking, if you were it just...wasnt funny at all, not clever or any structure to that lame joke.

If your not joking, theres not much more to say to a worthless piece of shit.

  • word

  • It could have been worse, The racist scumbag could have actually opened fire. But then he would just get a paid vacation for it. HA HA Free country my ass, when this could happen to any Black or Hispanic, even Obama, at the mere whim of these mistakes of nature.

  • im white and yes this is a race crime.... fucking punk ass dallas cop....

  • This is a hate crime by a police officer. There is no doubt in my mind the obviousness of the intentional misbehavior and power trip of this officer.

How many other times do you think this same police officer has abused his power as a police officer (specifically toward African American people).

Thankfully this officer choose someone to abuse that was an athletic figure that had the ability to speak up and people listen.

Fire him, jail him or Let him abuse his "powers" as a mall guard.

  • Wow. How could he do this to another human being? Even after a nurse comes and tells him what's going on the ass-wipe starts in on a lecture about attitude wasting even more precious time.

Looks like that cop protected his own ego and gave service to his bigotry.

  • Seriously. He was doing that shit on purpose, just because he, like MOST other cops, has a hard-on for his power.

  • the cop is all ready totally numb to the living

911 Truth, Police Brutality, Conspiracy Solutions (Part 1)

Jesus says let the dead bury the dead. and the living care for the living...the cop is all ready dead inside...911 Truth, Police Brutality, Conspiracy Solutions (Part 1) watch these videos for more power.

  • That's the Police in Texas...Almost as bad as Williamson County...ALMOST.

  • could you even imagine more sane and rational people? this couple was AMAZING...the cop chased on guy one time in 3 years...so he pulls the gun on on pretty woman running to see he mother...and he is total ok with his behavior, BECAUSE it is police exceptable behavior in America at this time...behind the closed doors...sociopaths love this stuff. only solution...911 Truth, Police Brutality, Conspiracy Solutions (Part 1)

  • Ya, I agree with you!!! They have power trips out here!!!!

  • I hope this guy does well in the NFL now. He's a good man for bringing his wife in the middle of the night to see her dying mother(lots of men aren't half as nice). He was upset but wasnt using bad language and under the circumstances was trying to be as cordial as possible. Most people wouldn't be as level-headed if it were them(myself included).

When asked about it afterwards, knowing the public and media were behind him, he could have taken a lot of verbal shots at the cop but didn't take many.

  • there is always one cop that gives all cops a bad reputations.

  • Even after the nurse came out and told him he was needed, the prick still kept him out there. The officer eventually resigned but who knows how many more dickheads like him are out there. "To Protect and Serve"!

  • Fuck the Police

  • i hope this sick fucker runs into an actual problem some day and gets his ass capped. you know what they say "the only way to tell how many people really like you is counting the people at your funeral". this asshole would get buried in a drainage ditch.

  • What the fuck?! Moats told this dickhead what the deal was. What damage could Moats have done, if the "OCCIFER OF THE GODDAMN LAW" would have just let him go in and tend to family business? And the policeshit had the fucking keys to the truck, so it wasn't like he would have tried to flee or anything else after going in to say bye to his Mother in Law. Cops in America, most of them, are bonefide DICKHEADs, I swear!!!!

  • I like how the sick fuck says that he thought it was something better all police act this way and wonder way they dont get no help from the streets when shit go down thats way right there they have no respect they enter in as humans and then we get this as a result after many years they tired of there job a just turn into ass holes this is way im scared of police... and not the gang banger wit the gun . Look at this shit they could have just let the man go...

  • This obvious CUNT of an officer should have gotten a kick square in his fucking MOUTH by every family member...where the fuck does this DOUCHE bag get off giving this guy tickets..where is the fucking Judgment and COMMON FUCKING SENSE... what a fucking piece of shit and I hope he lost his fucking JOB...what is this country coming to?

  • im in the police academy and i think this is bullshit no one should be treated like this, he did lose his job over it. the dallas police cheif WILL NOT tolerate that kind of behavior on his police force

  • This cop is retarded.

  • oh bachandl, sticking up for that code of blue.Freedom steeling POS! go to h*ll and stay with your own.

  • Is it really a surprise that this cop would act like that? The only people that become cops in our facist society are those that love power, and love to abuse people. If our laws were just this would be different, but laws are created and enforced to keep the "commoners" down. This kind of thing happens all the time... and know one would know or care about this incident if it hadn't happened to a semi-celebrity.

  • You can't generalize about things like this. There are pricks in every field.

  • True... All athletes would not want to be judged by the athletes who leave their children without support, kill pedestrians accidentally, have illegal weapons in their possession and I would think police would not want to be judged by those who plant evidence, abuse their authority, harass citizens, etc...

Each professional needs to be judged individually based on practical experience and the reasonable person test...

  • what a heartless asshole

  • The Dallas Police administration through prematurely condemning their officer, allowed the entire country to bash this young officer who simply made an error in discretion. He did not violate anybodys rights, he did not the violate the law, and I dont think he violated Dallas Police Policy. We are ALL human and make mistakes.

  • He violated on simple rule that your casually leaving out here, COMMON FUCKING SENSE. He has the car, he knows the plates he could have EASILY let this guy take his mother in and dealt with him after ESPECIALLY since its all on video. Common mistake, FUCK OUT OF HERE with that utter BULLSHIT

  • I dont think there is any question that good common sense dictates that the officer should have allowed Mr. Moats to enter the hospital with a verbal warning. The important thing to remember is that the public and the Police Chief have the ability to look at the whole picture after the fact. We now know that the officer kept Mr. Moats from seeing his mother-in-law before she passed away. However, the officer at the time did NOT know that was what he was doing.

  • The public criticism is centered around some very unfortunate circumstances. First off, if the mother had in fact stayed alive for 5 more minutes, the media would have never talked about it. Second, the officer is white and the driver was a black football player. Thirdly, the Dallas Police Chief publicly condemned his officer before the internal investigation was finished.

  • The nurse did not corroborate the information until almost at the very end of the stop. The officer was not rude, he talked of arrest and attitude as a technique to calm the situation down.

  • What do you mean the fucking cup didnt know that his mother was dying he said cleary in the video that his mother was dying so yeah just saying not trying to start a fight but cleary it was the cops fault he took his job to seariously

  • The thing nobody brings up is that the officer has no idea what he is facing on a traffic stop. Technically the females that go into the hospital at the beginning of the video, they were legally required to stay at the traffic stop even though they were only passengers. However, the officer made an exception and let them go into the hospital despite their rude conduct. The officer also has no idea to what extent the driver is telling the truth about the severity of the dieing mother.

  • fuck all that racist shit asshholes

  • it's funny how once you whiteys take over a nation, then it's automatically yours.... ... If you want to give the country back to people who built it then give it back to the blacks and native american indians you fucking fag. I love how whiteys act so tough on internet but every whitey i met on the street has gotten his face bloodied by me. So fuck you and go fuck your cousin you redneck trailer park inbred two cent pipe sucking son of a whore.

  • hahahahaha ur right xtremis1

  • this was an emergency... fuck respect for some dumb cop someones life was on the line

  • i heard ryan moats resign the cop back to his job.

i was reading it in the houston texans website

  • That is why people hate cops.

    Fucker

  • 4:45-4:53 What the heck is up with that??!!!!!???? That cop was on some bullcrap right there.

  • this is shit, i would have walked right into the hospital, screw the cop, that pissed me off so much.

  • It is NOT an abuse to write a ticket, the problem is the LACK of common sense when deciding the reasons for writing a damn ticket. The cop was told by the driver, the hospital security, and the staff that he was needed immediately in the hospital. The cop delayed over and over to prove that he was GOD. In the meantime, the person died in the hospital. Fire the damn cop!!! He has NO common sense and should be flipping burgers somewhere.

  • No common sense or compassion for other humans, are cops even human or drones. either way what a fuck

  • I understand your view... but if you want respect from a cop, show yours to him FIRST!!!!!!

  • Shayneerin, It's an abuse of power when it becomes obvious that you're more concerned about proving your police powers to someone who commits an infraction rather than dispensing the ticket in all due speed. In 16 minutes, you're telling me a cop can't write a ticket? And then he starts to preach to obfuscate what he did? Oh, and my father was a cop in one of DC's worst 'hoods, but we're also black and understand how cops can act on a power trip.

  • FUCK U U FUCKING PIG. u sick fuck get a heart you fuckin cunt

  • @ shay He probably would have let him go if Moats hadn't been such a prick

Is there any truth to the economic reality that cocksuckers would go out of business if there were no pricks?

  • i've been in the car wen the police stopped it and it does take a long time to run the stuff(especially if your black which i am) but the ignorant ass racist cop cud've let him go

  • He probably would have let him go if Moats hadn't been such a prick. Moats gets out yelling to the officer that he's wasting his time... after the cop just chased him with lights and siren for a good mile. What the hell was Moats thinking... stupid n#@%$#r

  • c day was ubcalled 4 nd now ur an even bigger racist...if ur mom was dying nd a cop stopped u, about running a red light (wit no traffic), u wudnt b yellin???but i forgot ur prolli the son of a former KKK member and u grew up hating black people and loving hitler...u fuck

  • It is not his mom- mother in law!!!!!

  • i think the "PC" came when the guy was running red lights and stop signs and not stopping for the other red lights on top of the cop car, moron...secondly, if you watch the video to the end you will see what a "rush" this guy was in as he casually strolls away into the hospital...

  • I am referring to the December 2007 DWI stop... Video can be found on Dallas Morning News Webstie..

  • All police officers go through extensive training to determine what is the best course of action and this officer was wrong. His need to be in authority over rode his need to be a compassionate human being. After verifying the situation he could have easily backed off and left the poor family alone. Moats was not trying to be above the law. Every day traffic officers make exceptions and judgement calls involving traffic violations. This should have been the case in this instance.

  • He had his flasher on! He STOPPED at the light. It appears he was driving with the intent to not endanger anyone. He was rushing to see a dying relative. This cop is an ignorant redneck! Now he is unemployed.

  • It amazes me that this stupid cop can run his mouth endlessly about attitude and yet can't seem to apply it in his job. In the mean time with NO time to spare he continues lecturing while Moats mother in law is dying. What a fucking total disgrace to the department.

  • Shayneerin I read your post in the multiple places you reposted it again and again. You don't need to annoy people.....knock it off.

  • Comment removed

  • What probably did not help the officer afterward was that video where he appeared to do a field sobriety test without PC and the revelation that he arrested the wife of another NFLer for doing a U Turn and four other charges that were later dismissed. Also, the fact the incident was reported by the Plano Officer and not by Powell to DPD Command Level Officers did not help. Also, the apology from a lawyer instead of in person cost this officer the PR battle. By Monday, he was beyond recovery.

  • briscoe I agree with you. Too many mistakes seem to embody this guy. It also didn't help that this cop is only 21 years old or so and doesn't have the maturity to be trusted with that much responsibility. I'm glad he resigned from the force, lets hope he stays out of law enforcement.

  • If he were to stay in Law Enforcement, my preference could be corrections or border patrol...

  • He was offered a job with another agency before he left Dallas PD... look in to it. I would tell you where, but then you cop hating fucks would start harassing his department. I have inside intel...

  • Man has a family and he committed no crime. Good luck, Officer Powell.

  • idiot

  • ????

  • Hope it is not Tenaha, TX... They are about to have a few problems. May not be able to make payroll once issues are resolved...

  • So he can go be a jerk in another community.

  • Did anyone else here Britney Spears's "Circus" song playing in the background? Around 30 seconds (I feel the adrenline moving through my veins, yadada) at :45 seconds (All eyes on me, in the center of the ring, yadaya)

Was this the cop listening to BS or Ryan? LMFAO. Either way it's amusing.

  • The cop is clearly wrong in this, I just hope this doesn't add fuel to the fire in the disrespect for police officers in the black community.

  • From Dallas Morning News...

Story about an officer named Graham Quattlebaum (he better be good with a name like that) who used his police training, evaluated the situation, adapted and saved a man's life. Great job, Officer Q..

Stay on the job and keep up the great work.

Story points out quite well that officers need to be authoritative and not authoritarian..

Let us not forget there are some great cops out there. Pound of flesh received. Let us accentuate the positive...

  • You are an idiot for even saying something as ignorant as that.

  • You idiot, he was calm and the first thing out of his mouth was that the situation was urgent - which, by the way, any person with common sense should've been able to figure out!

  • Respect my authoritah!

  • I need to PEE in HIS MOUTH!

    BITCH ASS POLICE OFFICER!

  • And there are more pressing issues going on in the world. Michelle Obama put her arm around the Queen of England... And the queen returned the gesture... OMG.... OMG.... OMG...

  • I think that many of the post on here are totally out of line. After serving over thirty years in law enforcement, there are many times people put on hazards and disregard the law. Normally once hearing the problem a decision is made. I think it is an abuse of power whether he was a football player or a citizen to arrive at the hospital and hear the problem and not allow the man to go in. He had tag number and if he wanted to issue ticket could have without delaying the man. Poor judgement

  • I hope one day your kids or parents are dying in a hostipal and something like this happens to you. Normal is getting to the hospital as fast as you can to see you love one for the last time before she died.

  • Oh, and I don't believe you were a cop for over 30 years either. Bunch of crap.

  • This is simply a case of abuse of power with a little hint of stupidity and a glaring lack of humanity on the part of the cop. Perhaps I should add racial discrimination. I bet you if it was a white guy driving that car, it would've been a completely different story that would never have made it on youtube. I had high hopes when Obama got elected. This moron cop just wiped it just like that.

  • I don't think Obama carried TX....

  • Not every cop is the same. Like not every person is. There's always corruption and bad cops and the majority I like to think are genuinely caring officers.

Yet the chief of this officers department even admitted this officer did not act professionally once he understood the situation. He was put on paid leave until further investigation. So the chief even acknowledged the fact the officer didn't act accordingly to this emergency situation.

  • The chief is covering his own ass by sailing this officer down the river. The thing you will notice about police chiefs, is that most of them will fall right in line with the general public, because they aren't cops and haven't worked the streets for probably 20 years by the time they make chief. This officer did nothing wrong. Moats made the incident take longer by not cooperating.

  • you view a police chief agreeing with the general public as a bad thing ? that is who cops are supposed to 'protect and serve'. is it not ? Do you think it would be good if we had police chiefs who treat the general public with disdain and an attitude of "Our traffic tickets are more important than your family crisis" ?? get real pal. the more cops act in this manner the harder their job will get, if they can't use good judgement we will pass laws forcing them to.

  • I view a police chief as a politician, meaning he loses focus of reality of law enforcement challenges, and instead floats around with the wind of the public opinion. Cops protect and serve by enforcing the law. It wasn't about a traffic ticket being more important than a crisis, it was about a man disregarding the law, endangering others, and then getting belingerant with a cop. I would love to read the law that states people don't have to stop for the cops if they have an emergency... lol

  • he did stop, what was it ? three blocks or something. I suppose the two minutes of this officers time to follow to the hospital is too valuable to waste ? I think it's clear in the law that you can drive to the closest safe location to stop when an officer pulls you over.

  • he actually stopped less than one minute after the cop turned his lights on. that isn't fast enough for you huh ?

  • The closest safe location would be the side of the road when you see the red and blue behind you. The cop was doing about 60 mph and still couldn't catch Moats. He was endangering anyone else on the road. Very dangerous at night for pedestrians.

  • How do you figure 60 mph ? the cop barely made it out of second gear. My guess is you are a cop, because when all logic fails cops just make stuff up to get the bust. which is precisely what you are doing here. the only person who endangered other drivers or pedestrians here is the cop.

  • Wow 60 mph come on that is normal driving speed for many people. If it was your mother would you have stopped or did the same thing this man did.

  • man the cops where slow only thing they had to do is write the ticket check for a d.u.i. and leave

  • that some bullshit right there

  • From a PR standpoint, I think most people are siding with Moats because even the most serious Law and Order types would say, "I don't approve but I understand". The sentiment runs the same for the officer up to the point where the Plano Officer arrived and the situation was clear...

  • "attitude is everything" ... F that cop. The guys mother was dying. There was no reason he couldn't just have let him go.

  • Comment removed

  • who becomes cops? The bully in school who got straight C's.

Low level Police work is a "C" student profession. So, you should expect stupidity from them every once in a while. Both moats and this officer screwed up. A dying family member doesnt give any of us the right to kill other people on the road. I don't care if jesus is dying on a cross. Stop at the red light when Im at the intersection. I'd rather your beloved family members die than my car get obliterated with me in it.

  • Its already been stated that he stopped and by gesture asked for permission to other cars before going through.

  • Comment removed

  • there is no footage, it is not inherently dangerous to run a red light. He slowed and looked both ways and proceeded in a safe manner. Just like your beloved cops do when the situation warrants it.

  • Moats should have stopped immediately, like every other normal person would have under those circumstances. He thought he was above the law and didn't have to stop for the officer. Moats was wrong. He risked the lives of others by not obeying traffic laws. That is why traffic laws don't have exceptions for the general public, even if you are on your way to the hospital to visit a dying relative. Moats would have arrived sooner if he had obeyed the law. Yes the officer could have been nicer.

  • his wife got to see her mother before she died. he did the right thing. It's just a shame this idiot piece of scum was unable to recognize the situation so Moats could have been there with his wife when her mother passed. it has nothing to do with how 'nice' this idiot was, it is simple common sense. if it was so damn important to write the ticket he could have just taken his name and given him the ticket later instead of detaining him. this is ridiculous. you should be ashamed of yourself

  • That's actually not true. It's an unfair, and unfounded, generalization that people like to say to sound like they know what they're talking about. Cops actually come from various backgrounds, be it ethnically, socially, and economically. Many are college graduates--some even Ivy Leaguers. Many were star athletes. Many were Honor Society students.

Mind you, I agree that many officers--including this one--could use better judgment. I just don't agree with the stereotyping.

  • GoodSmellingStink - you talk that kind of crap about cops and then are amazed when they don't treat you well... lol Cops generally treat others they way they are treated, so maybe you all need to take a look at yourself.

  • he's on payed leave right now

  • He resigned yesterday...

Got the Nixon treatment, so I have heard...

  • Comment removed

  • just resigning is not enough....i wish the cop dies a painful death.

  • im sure if this were a black cop and a white man and the same exact thing happened the opinions would be reversed and the cop would have been "doing the right thing". people stop playing the fucking race card every chance you get. this is the reason racism still exists, because minorities just wont fuckin let it go.

  • i guess one less black man in the world would be a step in the right direction...if im a moron for having an opinion i guess u are no better than i am.

  • thats why i hate these motherfucking racist ass douch-bag pig cop...its really a damn shame...

  • ya ya ya, our country is full of racist cops, bla bla bla. Tell our BLACK president to do something about it.

  • I would think the Attorney General of the United States might be a more appropriate source...

  • go jump in ur black and white and oink

  • When that cop gets shot in the line of duty, I wonder if they will post it, and I know he'll get shot, because bad things happen to bad people.

  • we can only hope!

  • You know he resigned and is no longer a cop, right?

  • Attitude is everything! I can't say I'm surprised. Things are alot different here in Texas. And I dont' think this particular case is racial. Most cops here are on power trips and treat ALL citizens rudely. Texas law enforcement sucks. And its worse in the rural and suburban towns.

Google " Robert Tolan " This guy got shot by a police officer who suspected him of driving a stolen SUV in his driveway in Bellaire outside Houston The vehicle wasnt stolen and the guys dad was a MLB baseball player

  • REMEBER ATTITUDE??? This Cop was Smoking ICE!!! What a GOOOOOOF! what goes around comes around PIG!

  • WTF!! He said, "I'm almost done" even after the other officer asured him that his mother-in-law really was dying. This idiot should get fired!!

  • Now after all said and done, if the cop still didn't let him go then have a attitude, or even ask for his supervisor in charge. But first he should of taken care of business like a professional that he is. Belive me the whole situation made me mad from both sides. I was like Ryan shut and give the cop your papers so you can go. I also think the cop had a very bad attitude too. Your not supposed to threaten people by telling them i gonna take you to jail. The cop was wrong very wrong.

  • eau9999 you're a big moron. shut the fuck up idiot and go preaching somewhere else. moats had every right to be stressed. you're as dumb and insensitive as the officer expecting such words from a person under pressure. i have to repeat: you're an idiot

  • The cop was wrong but was only doing his job. Ryan should of come right from the beggining and all of this could of been avoided. Ryan should said "Hi sir I have an emergency my name is Ryan Moats i am a pro athete. My mother in law only have seconds before she dieds. Heres my license and insurence card. Can I please go take care of this matter. You can keep my license till i come back down. I just wana say my last goodbyes to her. I am sorry officer that i ran the red light and 2 stops signs.

  • The sad part is that there are hundreds of police departments in Mississippi, Louisiana, Georgia and South Carolina that will hire this fool without hesitation in the next couple of months.

    Watch.

  • This cop is the biggest piece of $hit on the planet i hope he loses someone very close to him and some fat piece of crap won't let him go see his loved one. Burn in Hell PIG

  • What a power trip, damn cop still couldn't man up and admit he was wrong. I guess Moats forgot to smile at the mention of his mother-in-law dying. Stupid cop, he only said it like 5 times.

  • These redneck cops are ridiculous and this incident seems like it should be an episode on Reno 911 !! Robert Powell is the real life "officer garcia" and thats not funny at all... it's just SAD

  • This video makes me sick to the core on so many levels. That cop would've had to shoot me to stop me from going into that hospital. Absolutely disgusting. I think the (now former) cop should be charged with a felony. I'm not a huge fan of lawsuits but in this case, not only would a suit be justified; quite frankly it's not enough. I can't fathom why the hell the other officer didn't step in to intervene. I support good cops, but this dude and his chuckling buddy are nothing but pieces of shit.

  • Court TV was discussing. I believe soveriegn immunity would protect officer and PD and city based on the circumstances...

  • Cities (and subsequently their employees) are not protected under the doctrine of Sovereign Immunity.

  • Not my area of specialty.. Quoting Lisa Bloom I am reasonably sure that without a reasonable evidence of misconduct, no lawsuit. May be official immunity...

Either way, I don't think Moats wants or needs a lawsuit. This thing was bad for the PD, the Officer and the famiy. Everybody lost...

  • "Everybody lost"

    Very true

  • I think there was some type of law passed (not sure if it is statewide) to shield Dallas PD from liability in the performance of their duties (high speed chases in particular) but I am not sure of the details..

  • I come from a family of people who have served, fire rescue, police, army etc.. this is BS. Someone not wanting to admit he fucked up. This kid is not mature enough to be a cop. I understand the need to control a stop and the situation as a cop. But in this situation, the need to have compassion is far greater. I also love that Ryan did not once say, "do you know who I am?" his only concern was being with a loved one. Had this been my mother he would have had to shoot me in the back to stop me.

  • Cops hear these types of stories almost every time they stop someone. The officer let all but the driver go into the hospital. He simply wanted to verify the drivers info and would have let him go. The guy kept talking trash and telling the officer to "write the ticket" he must have asked for the ticket 5 times. I say, give it to him, smart ass punk that obviously had no respect for the law.
