  • a nightmare to every skipper out there... =/

  • There goes a lot of money down the drain

  • i guess this is why you make sure you lock the front hatch :)

  • That other boat members were probly like "TADA!! i made a boat disapear"

  • thank god someone was there to save the crew or sailor, but that was so depressing to see a beautiful ship sink

  • Use Google and you will know that "Berserk" is not even close to that boat from this footage. "Berserk" was lost in Antarctica, not in North Sea.

  • @MegaOculus your correct the name of the yacht was Serenerity

  • Maybe thats was "Berserk" the norwegian boat, that was in 2009.

  • Fishing vessel crew is hella pissed. Boat went down before they had time to plunder her.

  • @ridgeback69z no they wernt !!I as skipper wouldnt have allowed them to endanger there lives by boarding the yacht!

  • Keel is busted to shit.

  • Does anybody know the reason of sinking? Why boat started taking water? Where was leak?

  • aw sad

  • ooh, hard to watch! Glad the crew is safe!

  • 747psychic of the Seven Sea's, Trade Winds,Continental Drift,Atlantic Sea Board,Pacific Rim, and I just--- got---- laid..............

  • IF it wasnt in 2009, i would think that this was the Norwegian boat "Berserk"

  • It's almost like watching someone die. Very sad.

  • what were the ind and/or sea heights because ik those boats can stand up to very strong conditions

  • or is it the good looking one --peter?lol

  • Hi,i think its Steven?? is Tarzan still your partner in the other boat?? Im having a great retirement down south here in Fleetwood and dont miss the North \sea too much! hope the family is all ok and have a wonderfull holy holiday. We will be on a mission in Malta till the end of January so take care .from Jim McK (PD 92 K B )

  • donnelly -its obvious that you know NOTHING about the North Sea and you are better off staying at home in bed! Please,if you do go to sea,Dont take anyone with you!

  • Someone should make an inflatable cradling type of floatation device that would go under relatively small vessels, that can either be inflated with a compressor or they inflate themselves. Floatation devices could come in many shapes/designs....no reason to let a small vessel go down like that...thats stupid. Float it and tow it.

  • that's sad. very sad.

    what happened ? … does anybody know ? …

  • @vincent7520 am the skipper of the fishing vessel who took the video. For some unknown reason the yacht(sailing boat) filled with water and the crew couldnt get it pumped out.

  • @BUDD418

what sort of sea state is this? how tall are the waves?

  • @markspence2xxx it was a force 8 with a 5 metre swell.

  • @BUDD418 was your boat the old challenger 2 ,andrew strachans old boat?

  • @jimsanj6 no my boat is the Budding Rose PD418 built by cambletown shipyard 1991, the other boat on the video is the Lapwing PD972 she was built in cambletown 1974 as the Xmas Rose.If l remember correctly the Challenger was decommisioned and cut up in Denmark a few years ago.

  • is that a p29 0r a chance 32/28 made by paceship

  • @rcsailer sorry l cant help you there!!

  • Was glad to read that all aboard were rescued. Sad to see the boat lost though.

  • @DouglasMiles1 it always sad when a boat sinks as l know through experience buts it not long forgotten about if everyone is safe!!

  • Thats a YACHT?

  • @AFewGoodPuppets well we call it a yacht in Ne of Scotland. So you dont in your neck of the woods well good on you!!

  • @BUDD418 That might have been the nicest Scottish reply I have EVER seen ;D

  • @BUDD418 That might have been the nicest Scottish reply I have EVER seen ;D

  • its not a small yacht to sail in open waters. Every year thousnads of smaller boats sail in open water inculding atlantic/pacific crossings. Its not size thats so much the factor, its the ability of the yacht and the crew among many other factors i couldnt care to mention.

  • @vincentpdonnelly totally agree with you !!

  • fuck the yacht, the birds are surfing the waves at 1:55 !

  • How deep is the water there and has anyone dived on the wreck?

  • @slavicmissions No answer. . . .

  • What? Saved by a Shetland Pony?

  • Maybe Russell Crow could take his towing boat and save it?

  • is that a campbeltown built trawler,budd.

  • @MrFairwinds yes our boat Budding Rose PD418 was built in Campbeltown 1990.The other boat on the video Lapwing PD972 was built in Campbletown as Fraserburgh registered Xmas Rose in 1974.

  • I am gonna come and get it

  • Ur gettin a few views o this noo peter?!

  • If it has sails and a cabin it is a yacht. If it doesn't have sales it is a motor boat or a ship.

  • @TheSevenSpades I always thought if it had sails....it was a sailboat.

  • I like how there is a bird just chillin there in the water

  • Save Shetland Coastguard - we have added your video to Shetlandlive the community network site to help the campaign. Please take a look. Thanks

  • submarined... that is sad..

  • someone asked why didnt we try to save the yacht .we did try to save it. we had a line on it but it broke.l wasnt going endanger my crew with puting someone aboard it!!

  • @BUDD418 so you stood there and videoed it?

  • @BUDD418 Absolutely! But it is sad to see her sink!

  • I see no Yacht, i see a pussy ass dingy

  • Norway FTW!!!!

  • why didn't they try to save the boat, just watching when it sank

  • He either blew a thru-hull fitting or hit a submerged cargo container that fell off a ship during storm.

  • @yakyakyak69 Or his daughter left the fore hatch open in high seas! Sad to see a nice boat go down like that. No apparent structural damage to the rigging and sinking bow first. Taking on water. Wish I knew what happened. All souls saved so it was a good day!

  • how did that get out there?

  • that can't be good

  • could be an albin vega?? I have been looking to by one but now i dont know...!

  • where is Shitland? never heard of it afore...

  • another fastner to watch for

  • crazzy man... but im not so sure i would call that a yacht.. it looks to be 33 foot or so

  • @usernametaken1932

    If it's not a yacht because it's 33 foot....what is it then?

  • @Byreka its a sail boat. i dont believe anyone would consider a 33 even near a yacht

  • @usernametaken1932

You must be American - In the rest of the world a "sail boat" is always referred to as a Yacht no mater what the size of the vessel. Read up about things before assuming.

  • @Byreka wow buddy, your very sensitive. actually i am russian. i didnt make the comment to create argument. only an observation. i would think in most parts of the world yacht is a symbol of prestige. This sail boat does not seem to me to fit this category. no big deal.... ok... its a yacht.

  • @usernametaken1932

I'm also russian and it's a shame for me to read dull comments posted by other russians. Yacht is a yacht no matter the size!

  • @usernametaken1932 I have a coronado 23, its a yacht even the manufacture plates say yacht, size is not the determining factor!

  • its soo freaky lookin at a boat underwater

  • das tut einen richtig weh !!

  • where is the yacht?

  • @QiuTie lying on the seabed 80 miles east of shetland

  • bilge pumps, Have 2 of them I guess

  • Yes, but what was the problem?

  • @viceroytennis not sure all l know was he started taking in water and the pumps couldnt cope

  • @BUDD418 It had inboard engine? Did you guys control the engine and the hoses for cooling?

  • Oh thats sad... I want to get a boat... and watching that makes me sad..

  • i was watching from the other fishing boat Lapwing PD 972 and it was VERY strange to watch. as a fisherman i never want to see a boat go under again!!!

  • that must really suck!

  • the yacht looks like a Shipman28 which is designed and built in ireland and sweeden by ollie enderlin. Sad sight for such a great reliable yacht!

  • @vincentpdonnelly But what is a 28' boat doing in the North Sea in high seas? That's not a smart move to sail something that small into the open Atlantic. It actually looks a little longer to me, like a 33' or a 34'.
