  • This sounds (in parts) very similar to an Elton John song from the 90's (Believe). btw not being a hater they are both good songs : )

  • I loved how they looked in the nineties, and Bono's voice was very cool, due to his allergic problem his voice was sounding rough, that gives the song more crudeness :)

  • sexy voice

  • 3:02!! bono is so cute and sweet in this video <33 and i love this song!

  • @unlikeanyotherhuman U2 have endless beautiful songs...In fact, they have songs much better than this one...

  • waouhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

  • bono sings about himself too not just frank , everything u write reflect yourself in some way or the other, two shots is one of his best lyrics, but hey that´s my opinion :)

  • @EnjoyTheSurface Amen!Try Hold me ,Thrill me,Kiss me Kill me."They like you to be Jesus to go down on one knee,They'll want their money back if you're alive at 33.Your turning tricks whith crucifix...you're a star"

  • i can just see ol blue eyes singing this. 3 people not liking this must be deaf. Sounds like bono of old

  • great song

    great music

    great singer

    great lyrics

    everything is great

  • This is a masterpiece. Looks like Bono and Sinatra's lives are reflected by the same mirror. The words and the images evocated by the song fit perfectly both of them and, in the end, every man who takes his life in his hands.

  • Bono and Edge wrote this song back in the early 90s. Anybody that says differently is the retard.

  • @fainall2000 lol i can't wear to hear this. who do you think wrote it then? lady gaga?

  • @fainall2000 who do you think wrote this?

  • But I like Nancy's version much better;

  • POP era was their absolute peak of creativity.

    Forever and ever.

  • @DrSequoia I disagree....Achtung Baby, Zooropa, Passengers, then Pop.

Bono's vocals on Pop are weak, due to his allergy problem at the time...

  • @MrNutsack101

On POP he sang with style and charisma.

His voice was crisp, but anguished and cracking only made it more dramatic.

Nothing of that was later present on ALTYCLB and HTDAAB where he simply hit high notes for the sake of high notes (no matter how hoarse it sounded).

Only with NLOH he seems to have recovered a bit of his skills.

    And you're right, buddy.

    Achtung Baby, Zooropa then Pop.

From the beginning to the very top.

  • the sassyshirley, bono wrote the song for sinartas birthday. matt dusk just did a remake thats all.

  • @mandorle80 I agree his voice isn't quite what it used to be, but have you heard Moment of Surrender? Pretty much ANY version.

  • When did U2 stop being THIS good?

  • when they stopped making records like POP, and began playing it safe... they're still amazing, but not THAT amazing...

  • Yeah I agree they're still good.

But they've settled far too much into a comfort zone for my liking.

  • Also, I just wanted to add that I seriously believe that Bono should be singing on the 360 tour like he did on POPMART.. On Elevation his voice morphed from POP and he would scream out the words unlike POP. Also, imo Bonos melody was better in Vertigo. But I noticed now on the 360 tour especially on STAY, the melody in his voice is at the best it can be. But I noticed when he sings loud he loses his voice a little.Point being, maybe he should sing like he did during POPMART. low but fluid.

  • I agree! Bono seems to be rather obsessed with singing loudly on this tour!

  • ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh the POPMART ERA.... how I miss POP....

I miss this BONO "look" :o)

  • Now this song from Matt Dusk who recorded it when Frank Sinatra passed away who Bono wrote it for. Amazing by both Bono & Matt

  • his voice comes from his lower throat, thats why it sounds so good.

  • I had heard about this song a couple of years ago, but for some reason I never got around to listening to it. Then, yesterday, I stumbled upon it in iTunes, and boy am I glad I did. What an spectacular song, and what an spectacular performance. I know it's very unlikely, but I really wisht U2 would play this song in their 360 tour. OVER THE TOP !!!!!

  • He has amazing voice,he always had!

    Love the song!

  • title would have been : one shot of happy, two shots of sad

  • Beautifull... no word can describe what i can feel listenning this song......

  • God, what a voice...

    HOW he CAN sing!

    It's a blessing!

    Brilliant performance!!!

  • Bono in his prime...Amazing Voice!!!

  • It was written by Bono and The Edge to Old Blue Eyes.

I'm sorry for your lake of taste.

  • He got a moustach

  • I love this song, but I am very sure bono is not actually singing.. it's exactly the same as the album version..

  • Of course he was actually singing it in a recording studio, of all places :)

  • It's because the version that appears in the album was this very performance. They just played a tape when it appeared on the show.

    I love this song.

  • @youtwooob

You wouldn't tell a mime even if you were miming yourself.

  • @DrSequoia your right! I was wrong, I think it's the video quality, sorry mate

  • This was the single version b side on God will send his angels its just been edited

  • A beautiful tribute to Frank Sinatra's life. Well-sung Bono!!

  • Amazing performance!! This is BONO!! Amazing BONO!!

  • Dear God, give this man a second life so he can have a solo career.

  • He's killing me...

  • Bono's voice as always sounds completely awesome in the vid! He put so much feeling into the song, his voice was so gentle and mellow, perfect on the song

  • wow, Bono's voice is terrific here!

    nice, smooth, and mellow

  • One of Bono's best vocal performances ever!

  • Folks this is the blues with a touch on the jazzy side. I wash shocked when I found this. Thanks so much for posting it.

  • lyrics, ace, his voice in this song, classic Bono! reminds you why he's known to have one of THE most evocative voices ever!

  • Yes Bono wrote it for Frank to record

  • around 97-98?

  • 1995.

  • Got Frankie's life perfectly. And the mood and delivery....

  • Bono wow.. the best..no comparison!

  • I first heard this great Frank song done by his daughter on the Jerry Lewis Telathon. She said it was written by Bono--I love it--all versions!

  • I love this song!

  • great lyrics

  • Too cool.
