I like how it was fashionable just for a year or so for the keyboard players to face back to the crowd so y'all could check out his naff new gear plus TV screen and those headless bass guitars ........ ahhhhhhhhh auto tune and Justin Bieber ARE YOU FOR REAL ??!!
Just brilliant - remember when it was first released in NZ and this video played on the old music TV programme, "Radio With Pictures", with Karen Hay introducing this song with the statement, "Well, here it is... Iva Davies and the Spiders from Mars"! Go 1984 Go Iva! Go Icehouse!
BIG call me from me, as I am a big fan of Icehouse, but I will go on record as confirming this is my favourite song of this band's. 2nd favourite would have to be "Heartbreak Kid", an album track off the LP "Man of Colours".
I'd like to see Iva Davies team up with Rob Kretschmer again. All my favorite Icehouse material is from that period when he worked with Rob Kretschmer.
I think that is the Fairlight! And Iva and band made good use of it... I recall Peter Gabriel using one in a documentary for his 1982 Security album, showing how it was used...

Love the Fairlight on this clip. I'd also forgotten that this track had a wicked bass line and that the legendary Guy Pratt was the bloke playing it!

The last album which Guy Pratt would appear on before joining Pink Floyd.

Yay! It's back! Thanks!
That looks like an old Radio Shack PC in the background, but it's probably the Fairlight.
