Ebay's brilliant move to remove the chance of getting neg'd as a flop buyer is what has caused the deadbeats and hostile dimwits who bid on our items. As I have told ebay on the phone, "you have killed off all of our leverage, we have no recourse and the bidder knows it." The ebay rep says "I'll pass that comment on to management." Yeah, that will happen.
The best thing to do is that when you receive one of these emails from a Nigerian or any other scammer, as soon as you know that this person will be nothing but trouble, immediately copy & paste their ebay user id to your BLOCKED BIDDER'S LIST. Problem Solved! :)
most sellers has been through all that, i know i did. Ebay finally change the rules to their stupid dashboard system, about buyers who doesnt contact u before filing disputes, they finally changed it that they wont change the score once its been resolved; why didnt change that rules to the fb system!!!! I do that too I bid on a lot of items and just go with the cheapest. Usually i know i will be outbid but if i am not and dont' want to buy 3 or 4 of the same itesm i just very politely ask the seller to cancel it. And most times if I am nice it is no big deal! I think only once a seller was mad! I do say though if it is a major headache i can pay for it unless it's very expensive!
I had a guy "imply" he was going to do something. it was a threat. I just reported it to amazon. I got lucky beacuse in the negative feedback he said blah blah and the "amazon sucks" so of course amazon removed it and i was happy!
I had a buyer make an offer on an item of mine. They said they would pay for the item plus shipping. So I send them an invoice for the updated shipping. Then I message them to tell them it is done. Not 10 minutes after that they said I did not respond fast enough & bought it from someone else.
So I said an HOUR was not enough time. They did cancel the transaction & I received the Final Value Fee back.
What gets me is a buyer with good feedback bids on 2-3 of the same item and buys it form someone else and I have to file a non paying bidder strike, and believe me I file for all non paying bidders I don't care what the excuse is
99.9% of Nigerians are scam artists... I received a very professional letter from PayPal and it looked so real you could not deny it.. It even had the PayPal logo telling how to protect against fraud and all that B.S. I knew it was a scam because it didn't have a secured icon next to the email, and I checked my account and there was no transaction.. Just beware of these guys, at the same time I kinda feel sorry for them because they are very poor people..
i had a drop shipping business and iv encountered that same nigeria scam when someone ordered 6 computers at $350 each i got a fake paypal email saying that payment was received so i checked and i still didn't get the payment so i reported the eBay account to eBay and reported the emails to PayPal ant that was the end of that

lol @0:00-0:10, and the Nigerians are a bitch indeed. I recall one time when I was selling my iPod Classic on ebay at a fixed price, 3 separate nigerian buyers committed to buying, but never paid. I excluded international buyers from the listing, but they are somehow still able to get around it which is BS.
I know it's tough to accept Paypal, but if you did, it may eliminate more problems than it produces. I would try Paypal for a month to see if the dead-beat bidders go away. I don't like Paypal because of the 2.9%/3.9% fee (+.30). Is this why you don't use Paypal?
@email4rudy the fees are not my main concern. i am concerned about all the fraudulant paypal chargebacks and the freezes that paypal puts on sellers accounts for no good reason
@crazeenydriver Yeah, I remember them freezing my acct, and not giving me my money (putting it on hold for some unknown illogical reason). But things are better now. At least for me they are. I'm more pisst off about the FVF shipping fee. A fee that is directly proportional to the weight of an item. It's bad enough a "heavy" item means the total cost to the Buyer will be more. Now let's tack on a fee to make it even more impossible to make a decent profit! Unbelievable!
Actually, Joe is blessed to be a power seller and have the ability to accept a different payment method. I wish I could do that, but I simply cannot .. Taking ProPay or CC cards doesn't significally reduce sales from what I heard.. I'm stuck with PayPal and have to watch my back every five minutes & hope they don't freeze my money.. PayPal is monoriting your every move and they admit that, God knows what else they're doing with your computer info, dead beats won't go away either..

While I'm here i wanted to mention my eBayMotorsSucks site got hit with a massive distributed denial of service last month that totally shut it down. But i refuse to lay over and die!
I created a slew of Mirror Sites to echo all the fraud that is happening on eBay Motors. I feel that eBay is behind this attack of my site that has been online since 2004.

@crazeenydriver When i was in the car business, any cars with pie pans had the hubcaps upgraded to oem style premium caps. The factory wire caps would really set that car up nice. Just looks kind of blah to me with those pie pans on it.

i have had some horror stories with some sellers , one buyer was harassing me with nasty emails to the point that ebay sespended the buyer for 6 months after i had contact ebay 5 times

Here's Ebay item : 150107674836 has not been updated since Oct 13, 2009 08:09:20 PDT. Either they just can't sell it or it's a PHONEY LISTING.
I just found it. And there are TONS more with Old Dates on them.
Looks like Ebay's padding the count.

Yes, You can charge him with making terroristic threats. I record ALL incoming calls. It really pays off.
I sincerely believe there is an orchestrated Ebay team who's specific mission is to remove All of the Independant American Sellers.
I also get Niggerian "Scam Magicians". DELETE them.
