I find using the Charge/Wave/Spazer/Ice Beam combo better when fighting Phantoon, because not only is it more safer than seen in the above video, but you can shoot the flames for energy and weapon refills

You can get the tank at 7:40 by shinesparking diagonally left off the platform seen BRIEFLY at 7:24.

if you unequip the spazer beam before fighting Phantoon hell fly across the room eye open letting you shoot him with a couple missles and 1 super missle before being transparent again.

if you only use charge beam on this battle instead of using any missiles, then Phantoon doesn't get stuck up in the ceiling and become all annoying and invincible. this gives you more opportunities to hit him and can make the battle a little shorter.

I'm also betting that phantoon was an experiment of some kind by the space pirates to create some kind of super weapon from mother brain's DNA, or something. xD

Metroid zero mission is a remake of Metroid 1. Metroid 1 and Metroid 2 are both mentioned in the beginning of Super Metroid story. So yes, the mothership explosion in Zero mission, which is Metroid 1, is indeed this ship.

When he starts spiraling the flames, I just go into morphball and hit each edge starting with the right side. It works.

NTSC and PAL are analogue TV standards that are used in different parts of the world. NTSC is used in the US and Japan and runs at 60 fps interlaced, PAL is used in Europe and Australia and runs at 50 fps interlaced. Because of the difference in frame rate, some things aren't quite the same in the PAL version. The shinespark that I do at 9:02 in part 8 is an example of something that doesn't work in the PAL version.

I only converted into morphball in the right wall, and then I move between both walls with each wave of flames. I think it is easier.

im still trying to kill him with only 4 energy tanks. what is that thing at the very end of your weapon list? screw attack or something? if it is can u please tell me how to get it? and what is the word "auto" there for? this game is much harder on rom. thats what im playing this on. crocomire was very challenging for me. kraid was in the middle. spore spawn was nothing.

The last item icon is the X-ray Scope, which reveals hidden items and passages. The "auto" text is for Reserve Tanks. You don't get the Screw Attack until much later in the game (part 11 of this walkthrough).

If you're playing on an emulator, I'd recommend getting a gamepad if you don't have one. Playing Super Metroid with a keyboard is horrible.

Hmm, that's true. I had thought none of the items in the Wrecked Ship appeared until Phantoon was beaten (I know this is the case for other items, like the Gravity Suit) but I guess that missile expansion is still there.
