well, 2-story stores don't have traction, which is wierd! Also, in the case of fashion valley, and UTC, they are both older stores (FV expanded 1997), so that's why they have hydraulic, but all 3-story stores built scince 1984 seem to have traction.
This elevator and the one in Dillard's in Atlantic Station didn't forget your floor. There is a safety that when you get to the highest or lowest floor and the door didn't open yet and you push a button, it goes out. This is so pranksters don't push all the buttons.
On wikipedia, it said that the store in Phipps is Atlanta's 3rd Nordstrom, and if that's true, where is the other one? (Other than Perimeter and Phipps)
It sure is a nice elevator, and is very interesting to use a traction elevator instead of hydraulic in a 3 floor building.

For some bizarre all Nortstrom stores have traction elevators.

Except for the one in Austin, Texas, which is hydraulic, and there maybe others with hydraulics, as well as tractions.

Actually, there is a 2-floor traction elevator (traditional geared w/ motor room!!!) at Lenox Square Mall.

Actually, the doors did open, and the elevator did hold the call. This elevator correctly canceled my call, but the one at Dillard's did not.

Nice elevator. I found it weird that the floor indicator is similar to ones in Abell elevators.

Nice elevator! My Nordstrom has two elevators like that, too, except the floor indicator on top is blue-green.
This is the first Nordstrom in Georgia; it opened in 1998.

They look almost alike the ones in King of Prussia but except it made by Schindler which is also Traction, same design, etc.
