Loon Sounds in Ontario Canada

I finally know what that kind of freaky sound is at night in my backyard! Thank you! I was told to look up a loon! Thanks to youtube, I have found out a noise that was a fox and now this. Two scary, freaky noises at night!

Bobs Lake is the best place in the world!!! There is so much to do there, such as the jumping rock, wakeboarding and tubing is endless due to the size of the lake, great fishing, and much, much more!!! I love having my cottage there, wouldn't want it anywhere else:)

That's why we Canadians have a loon etched into our dollar bills. We actually call them loonies.

holy crap, if i spent more than ten minutes surrounded by those things, making those weird sounds, i would also go "loony".

For some reason, i never see any loons, even tho they are definitely in my state and there are lakes all over the place. Maybe they don't like me.

That lake sure does have a lot of loons. So nice to listen to and watch while out fishing. Nice video!

They aren't calling back and forth to each other, they are making the tremolo sound which is a nervous indicator. They are scared of the approaching intruders.

That is definitely Bob's Lake. I used to have a cottage on Bob's Lake. My family went there every summer from the time I was born up until about 1999 after my sister and I grew up. I miss it so much. I need to buy a cottage on Bob's Lake.

Pretty neat. I used to hear them on the lakes of northern michgan, but never like this.

On a side note, sometimes a screech owl will sound an awful lot like a loon.

Looks like you found a real beautiful spot, the next camping trip might have to be in canada.
