why is everyone getting but hert. i beleave they are going in the right direction with this guitar. if they wanted a guitar that has no player they will use a computer but they are not. its taking a good step that you dont have to buy peddles to get the sound you want, just one guitar and auto tone is cool. if you dont like it, dont use it. i love the look, classic but shows that i can rock with it. i like it and someday get it.

The Robot tuners are brilliant. That's where it stops. All the onboard effects are simply not needed, or wanted. Just auto-tuning. I would like to have one if it that's all it did.

This guitar is amazing. However it is also gimmicky. I think the versatility would be very helpful to guitarists who perform live and who want to use different tunings and tonal palettes regularly. Imagine the versatility you'd have with the built-in tunings. You wouldn't need roadies and tons of guitars or song breaks. That is really cool. However for home players it seems more like a toy than anything else. The onboard distortion is a nice try but all tube amps are the only way to go.

I'm 20 years old and ive been playing for 5 years or so . . i think. Still rocking the 89 Gibson LP Standard straight into a 1990 JCM900 simple and effective. These things are just so wierd i dont like them . . . robot guitar pfff GAY !
Please embrace "Fast to Fail" philosophy here. Kill this project! Redirect the capital to reduce costs and offer more affordable prices on your great other products (and sell more!). This is also a nightmare with regards to the credibility of the company and its direction. Lastly, drop all of these wildly over-priced signature models. No body seems to want them based on what I hear on the street. Sincerely, a dyed-in-the-wool, old school Gibson fan.
Gibson... You can promote this guitar all you want but it's not going to make anyone like it. Listen to your customers, aren't we who you are making guitars for in the first place?
i think there is nothing wrong with the previous robot guitars that tune themselves but id rather have the effects on my amp instead on the guitar and yes it does look terrible
What it can do is awesome but not many people want to go down this root of guitars. It takes away from how pure a real guitar is. These are effectivly glorified toys.
@DrEviscerator666 Who is "we" ? I've played Gibsons for 40 years and I'm100% behind these kinds of projects. They're no different than Detroit's "concept cars". I don't understand why everyone is so worked up about one product out of an international company. Even if it doesn't "sell" (which it can't - they're only making a handful of them, relatively speaking) it can lead to other R&D down the line. Lighten up - it's not the end of the SG and Les Paul.
@moucon Definitely, this sort of product 'exercise' is mostly to let the designers come up with new ideas, see what works and what doesnt. Gibson would surely realise if you want to sound like an 80s digital mess like the vid then you can buy a boss gt10 and normal guitar for a quarter of what this thing costs.
