I first heard HANS in late 70's and he played at some of my productions in 80's... He played all types of Honky Tonks and ALWAYS was a crowd pleaser ! Great Artist !
First saw Hans back in the 70's at biker bars in Tempe/Mesa... he IS the father of the Blues and Boogie in Arizona and the Southwest... bar none. He's the man.
FANTASTIC ! I have been out of touch with the Blues Scene in Phoenix for some time . I still have a home there and spend a little time there(but not near as much as I used to in the 80s-90s) I used to go see Hans , Chuck Hall ,and the Rocket 88s . I miss those days and the great Blues. I think it is time to look some of these great artists up and go out and try to support them again (when I am in town)
I came from DC to see the Redskins-Cardinalss game in 2005. That morning, I saw Hans perform in the outdoor seating section of a restaraunt for Brunch in Tempe/Phoenix on Sunday December 11, 2005. He was incredible, outstanding! I think the name of the restaraunt was Sugar Daddy's. Great food to go along with his ear catching talent. That experience along makes me love Arizona.
Hans also did the theme song for the tv series Evening Shade. I am a big fan of Hans.
