  • I remember buying this album when I was like 16. It gave me a different side of Jimi I have never knowned. By far his most underrated album <3

  • @Catch22ish , yeah alot of later stuff was underrated, but of course, it was only ever part of a compilation album in all forms it has appeared, originally on Rainbow bridge album. He was changing very quickly as a musician, great for the music, but maybe not for him personally, at the time.

  • Ahhhhhh sweet sweet music, my favorite of all, pali gap, what a blessing

  • Anyone notice the Sreaming Eagles on his vest from when he used to jump out of planes for the U.S. Army. That's part of what made Jimi such a unique individual.

  • that intro gives me the chill every time. Its eternal quality ! turn it up

  • @WaterPocket "Eternal quality" I like that... Also, please check out my cover of this great tune too, if you get a minute...

  • HIgher and higher than the highest Rock/rythm&Blues highclif far and beyond the simple feelings in a Land of His own time and space .. The end is only the beggining , words have no meaning with Jimi forever going ! Still doinit

  • Jimi's music makes me so happy, I don't know how, but it does. It's just amazing.

  • Magnifique chanson! Un des meilleurs morceaux instrumental de tous les temps!

  • BRAVO!!!!MAESTRO!!!!

  • was issued as part of the 1971 Rainbow Bridge film and its accompanying soundtrack album."

Didn't find this on google, so I decided to share it with you the info about this awesome recording

  • overdubbed a second guitar and new solo, with the Marshall back at full volume. He did these with the Uni-Vibe, as well as a Leslie at the end."

While Hendrix never officially named this recording, the title "Pali Gap" was coined after the guitarist's death by his manager, Michael Jeffery. One of the producers of the ill-fated hippie docudrama Rainbow Bridge, Jeffery hoped the new title "Pali Gap" would further wed the song to the movie's Hawaaian locale. An edited version of the instrumental

  • Some Lovin', ' the Spencer Davis Group song, and that developed into a jam lasting nearly ten minutes."

Nearly three minutes into the jam, Hendrix shifted gears into "Pali Gap" and the group fell in behind in full stride. "When the jam started, Jimi was just [messing] around," remembers Kramer. "The tone he was using was just his quiet jam tone, with the amplifier turned down some, and not the full-bore Marshall sound he had used to cut the basic track for 'Dolly Dagger'. Afterwards, he

  • from the south saturn delta cover info on this one:

"Recorded on what was perhaps his most productive night at Electric Lady Studios, "Pali Gap" originally began as the instrumental jam immediately following the master take of "Dolly Dagger".

Originally marked on the tape box as "Slow Part", "Pali Gap" took form as the recording of the basic track for "Dolly Dagger" drew to a close. "As 'Dolly Dagger' began to come apart." explains Eddie Kramer, "Billy Cox started playing the bass line to "Gimme

  • I started listening to this when I was about 11 or 12 years old. I am 53 now and it just gets better every time I hear it. It is still # 1 of all music all time. To give honor where do, You have delighted my soul, great job on putting this together my friend. Audio is nice, sweet crisp all around Spirit lifting. • Talento y buen gusto : JIMI HENDRIX .

  • @robertbicho Claro que si! :)

  • a journey to another dimension....

  • i see this picture of him and i can't help but point at it like "thank you maannnn!!" and feel intensely grateful for turning my world on its head. jimi transcends the limits of time, sometimes i feel like this music was tailor-made for me, like i found my musical niche and i fit like a perfect piece in this psychedelic, trippy puzle of music. i'll be forever grateful to the cosmos for allowing this guy to meet with an electric guitar.

  • @jabeeeeeeeee lovely comment

  • @jabeeeeeeeee yup. meeting jimi's music just ain't like other musicians. his music is powerful enough to change you on a deep lvl. there's truly a spiritual connection "w/ the power of soul" that goes beyond the usual fascination w/ a music star.

btw, that's one of my fav. pics of him astride a "hippie bike" w/ flowers acting as backup headlights, definitely Jimi's "Ezy Ryder" pose. even w/ his thin arms he looks like a true gansta.

  • I cried when Jimi died ! - And I cried like a baby when I heard this again !

  • better get my mind back together...it's been blown

  • I adore this instrumental, I almost wore the track out when it first came out on the album "Rainbow Bridge" years ago. It's so cool. It's another of Jimi's songs that paints pictures and colours in my mind ♥ Amazing and inspirational virtuosity.

  • wow

  • Always loved this cut....!!!

  • i was proud to hear today the guy from bbc refering to this song in an interview, i just had to find it here after so long. a testament to human achievement,,, what else can we do, i just wonder some times.....

  • @lukoshey79 appearantly destroy the world... Had a man like Jimi Hendrix survived we would NOT be where we are now!
