You should check out some videos on Windows 7, (the "new vista" so to speak). Also check out videos showing Windows 7 running on SSD drives. There is one in particular where they used 24 SSDs (6 TB) and some other moded specs on a Windows 7 machine... its pretty impressive to say the least.

Technically updating the software isn't upgrading. In fact you could say that it's a downgrade because most of the time the new software takes up more space and so you have even less space to work with afterwards.
