As to whether or not the woman who is submitting to the abortion should be considered culpable should be dependent upon many factors, one of which being whether or not she gave her 'informed' consent. I don't know this guy, but I'm probably in agreement with most of his opinions but his first answer about judging past mothers who aborted their children was sidestepping the question. A better answer would be that the main focus is to penalize the doctor. He's the one performing the abortion and he is the one responsible for preserving life although the hypocratic oath is passé and at some point became the hypocritic oath. This country's being enamored with the medical profession is stupid.

And apparently, this guy doesn't realize that abortion WAS absolutely illegal at one point, and women died getting back-alley or hanger abortions. So you really wouldn't be "saving millions of children," you'd be loosing the same number of fetuses, but you'd probably be loosing their would-be mother as well.

I have read the Bible. I spent several years being taught (and tested) on the Bible and was raised in a thoroughly Christian home, with a bookcase full of the apocrypha, the original Greek/Hebrew Bible with a word-by-word translation, and several supplements, many of which I read.
The point of the 2nd argument was primarily to prove that you wouldn't really be "saving millions of Children".
Also, since you mentioned it, in this debate the difference between killing and murder is important.

Women were threatened with jail and family disown-ment (which, in many cases, was a death sentence) for abortions in the past, and abortions still happened. Pregnant with a baby you 1) can't care for and/or 2)would ruin your future is a very desperate place to be, and desperate people do desperate things (like risking the death penalty).

Murder is not "murder", it's murder. Killing a Jew is murder, killing a black is murder, and killing a preborn baby is murder.
When they were fighting to end the lynching of blacks, they weren't too concerned with how to discern which blacks were intentionally lynched and which accidentally hung themselves once they ended the injustice. They did the right thing and ended it.
If you can't tell the difference between a miscarriage and an abortion, please do some reading.

I know you think it's okay to kill a child for the crimes of his/her father, but it's still wrong. The emotional pain for that woman that was raped will far exceed the pains of child-bearing and will probably haunt her the rest of her life, not for just 9 months.
Killing her child will not get rid of that pain, but will only torment her further as she will have to deal with the fact that she killed her child the rest of her life.

I know a good number of people who were "mistakes" and turned out to have wonderful lives and are very glad to be here and have their own families now!
I want to see the public promotion of killing the innocent made a capital crime where those who promote the killing of innocent persons through radio, TV or newspapers and other media that they be brought to trial and the LOADS of evidence laid out before the judge (not a jury) the person convicted for promoting murder executed.
